How do you store your pedals that aren't on your current board? I just moved into a house where I have a dedicated music room and was thinking it would be cool to have some sort of shelves or something to display them and have them easily accessible. Something nice and permanent looking, and store-bought, ideally. Does anyone have anything like that? Pics are encouraged!

My amps and pedals go on a 'Muscle Rack' since I dont have the space to leave it all out anymore. It sucks because that means they collect more dust then play but the only place I could logically leave them out (old house only a couple outlets are actually properly wired with a 3 prong) would be next to the cockatiel cage and I dont want to have tube amps full of feathers.

Look at home décor stores for shadow boxes. They are made in different sizes with glass fronts. You could mount your pedals in one of those and hang them on the wall for a nice display. I call it "tone decorating!"

Your post comes about a month early for me to show-n-tell, but I went all-in. I built a cabinet that looks like a shadow box that holds 9 amplifiers, so of course I have 12 amps stacked on it :) That was a couple of years ago. Now I am building a full-width drawer riser that the cabinet will sit on. The drawer will hold all of my stomp boxes, about 60. I'm waiting for a Thanksgiving break from work and 'life' to spend a few days in the basement to pound it out.
I have a linear actuator that turns a lazy Susan to open the drawer at about 2" per second. My wife thought the motor was completely unnecessary, so I didn't tell her about the remote control...
It's not enough for all of my amps, but it will get all my pedals off the floor and free up more drawers. In short - you have the right idea, go vertical. Mine takes up most of the wall, but only 15" of the floor.

I keep my 'spares' (I don't have too many, and all pedals are always in 'rotation') on a couple of shelves of my book case, they are in front of my Jazz CD's and guitar mags

edit: If you look closely;), there should be an MHP "Stubble Trouble" FF, an Ibanez Echomachine, GFS Brownie, Biyang Comp, Dano TOD V.1, Barber Direct Drive, Boss CE-5 Chorus

I forgot to mention how I store the pedals I'm not currently using:
in a box, with price labels on them.
