    In proper order:

    Analog delay
    Compressor
    Distortion
    Volume Pedal
    Tuner

That's my opinion. Others may disagree.

    Tuner
    Compressor
    Distortion
    Analog delay
    Volume pedal
    (This is "normal")

I placed the volume pedal last if you want to play with full guitar volume, (with or without distortion), but want to be quiet in the mix. Kind of like a master volume on an amp.
Putting the volume pedal first, or just after the tuner, works exactly like working the volume knob on the guitar - less signal goes to the compressor and distortion.
If you tend to leave the compressor on all the time, one good option is putting the tuner *after* the compressor, so the tuner gets an extra strong, steady signal, and you don't have to keep picking the note over and over as much.
My story and I'm sticking to it.

So it seems most agree compressor should be pretty early in the chain, will putting the tuner before the volume give me silent tuning? I guess I want the volume last but would one put the tuner after the volume?

This. But, how many different orders proposed in just a few posts?

    Lots of things work.

You need to think through and know what you want the pedals to do and how to reach to each other.

Also keep in mind that signal chain order for sound and physical order on the board for ergonomics need not match.

I think you just launched a new line of pedals.

    Boat Motor fuzz
Pancake Batter uhhhh slow gear clone
    Tone on 1 - a transparent overdrive
    Star Dust - delay
Another Reverb - because the market already has so many

Does your amp have an effects loop and do you use overdrive from your amp as well?
If yes, I definitely recommend putting tuner - compressor - distortion in front of your amp and the volume pedal and then delay into the effects loop.
You will only increase the volume, but not the compression/gain saturation as you'll wghen putting the volume pedal in front.
