Thanks for the encouragement; maybe I will! It is one big old heavy MDF box as it sits now.

Your project reminded me of a re-cab project I saw on the steel guitar forum some years back: a guy built a pine cab for an old Peavey Pacer combo, but he built it short and put a pair of some kind of neodymium-magnet 8-inchers in it. It was left in a pale natural finish and made me think of some kind of Danish high-end furniture or something. He used it as a pedal steel practice amp. Just found the photo.

Also...I require details of the guitar in your avatar photo. What is THAT about? Looks cool!

    About my avatar guitar!
That is a tribute copy I assembled of a '75 Univox Ripper.
I call it a Univox Ripper Custom.
I made some changes that differ from the original due my personal preferences.
    Mahogany body rather than maple.
    5-way switch rather then 3-way.
    No tone knobs.
The Rail humbucker in bridge is actually a neck pickup , I find overly wound very hot pickups lose alot of treble response .
The pickups are ceramic rail neck in bridge.
    Alnico 2 in middle
    Alnico 5 in neck
All parts are from China except the tuners from Germany
It took alot of fret filing and crowning but It plays like a dream now. IMG_20200510_092540977.jpg IMG_20200619_213205031_BURST001.jpg
    70's style Schaller machines.
I put a Univox logo on it as a tribute cause it's a cool name to see on a headstock.

I got an old silver stripe Bandit and the cab is in rough shape - you are inspiring me with this project. I have some silver face grill cloth around, so I could use that. My Bandit has the old plastic mesh grill they used before the Bandit 65 series and it’s in rough shape. I put and Eminence Private Jack speaker in it years ago and it sounds fantastic.

I use it in a stereo rig on the left side with a Hughes and Kettner Tubemeister 18 and 1x12 Bassbreaker cabinet on the right. The TubeMeister provides the preamp for both channels, so the Bandit is operating basically as a powered cabinet. It sounds glorious in this rig.

    Peavey Bandit Pine Cabinet continued:
Sanding has finished and staining has begun.
I went with the barn red stain.
I will finish it with Solarez grain filler and sealer.
The stain is very close to the red stripe in color.
It's coming out nice ,I may have to purchase a cover for this one. Here's a few pics after staining. IMG_20201003_111033736.jpg IMG_20201003_111148371.jpg IMG_20201003_113002858.jpg IMG_20201003_113017759.jpg
Will show more pics when it's totally done.

Peavey Bandit Red Stripe pine cab is completed!!!!
    10 lbs lighter too!!
Actually looks good though if I ever did a red stripe again I would leave off the corners and go for a squared off look.
But I wanted to go with a total stock look just to see if I could pull it off.
Next is a pine Roland cube 80XL in the the same barn red and probably an open back or an open back option. IMG_20201007_093245690.jpg IMG_20201007_093349186.jpg IMG_20201007_093321831.jpg IMG_20201007_093420330.jpg

The pine Peavey Bandit red stripe is for sale and includes the original mdf cab as well.
Of course I won't ship this anywhere so would have to be picked up in Riverhead, NY IMG_20201007_093245690.jpg
