One popped up locally for 200 bills. It’s like brand new. Lady wants it gone she bought it new for a bum boyfriend. I tried the one with the 15 and was not real crazy about it. Is the two ten model closer to Fender type tone? Thanks

I like em’ both, the 2-10 and the 15.
They sound great clean or driven, and the tremelo is good.
I’m not crazy about Peavey reverb, but some folks like it.
They’re “warm” sounding amps, and have enough headroom to stay clean till 1/2 volume.
I’m considering one myself.
I prefer the looks of the black ones over the “tweed”
ones.
Anyways, good luck!

I have the 15” and think it’s great. Both model versions use Celestion speakers. If you don’t care for the sound I’m not sure two 10s will make the difference for you. It may be marginally more Fender-esque due to the cabinet configuration.
Still, “like brand new” for 200 USD is a good deal. You might want to buy it, see if it grows on you, and if not it shouldn’t be a problem to move it on.

I had the 210 for a number of years, and I loved it. I sold it when I was starting to feel the weight.

I think the tube compliment is similar to a Vox, but I don't know if it sounds substantially different to my 65 Princeton Reverb.

Fender sound? Which Fender sound? The circuit is very loosely derived from the 5F6A Bassman topography. The circuit determines more than does the tube choice, and since the late ‘40’s there were Fender amps with 2x0 and 1 x 15’s. That said, I consider each amp on its own and find what it will do. The Classic 50 does some interesting things from clean to high gain.
Peavey Reverb? As in many other modern amps, the reverb is in the solid state domain.
Neither of those amps would be a keeper for me, but in very good or better condition that $200 cost would be hard to walk away from.

Peavey el84 stuff isn't what I'd call fendery, but its different than British sounding el84 stuff. The 2×10 is different sounding than the 15 or the C30's 12, and I liked the 210 more than the 15 when I was shopping earlier this year. The trem was good, reverb isn't as great as big fender ones, but it's quite nice and useable. $200 is great if it's in good shape. You can move it for double that if you're not a fan. But they're pretty great sounding if you're after a solid clean machine. I like em more than fender HRs and most current production fenders in the same size range other than RIs or $1000+ ones. Worth $200 to investigate, if you ask me.

Thanks. I’m going to go check it out and bring a Tele. I read up where a one 8 ohm speaker can be run out the ext jack with the internals disconnected. I have a really nice Celestion I might try with it. Also I have a cage for the tubes I think will work. Or I might make a back panel for it. Here’s a few pics.

Go now and take the $200 with you. Don't wait or you'll lose it. That's a hot price. Even if you don't like it or have a use for it you should be able to sell for more. Around here a 2x10 Delta Blues would sell pretty easily for $300 and I see them listed at $350+

My Classic 30 (picked up on a lopsided trade) developed a 'crackle' a couple weeks ago, I'm guessing power tube sockets need to have the solder re-flowed. Anyway, I'd buy that DB 2x10 in a heartbeat to have 2 amps.

I also prefer the black over tweed on the Peaveys

I gigged my 1x15 model for 10 plus years and never had any complaints. I started building my own stuff a few years ago and sold it last year, but just because I didn't need it and needed to clear it out.

Also I have a cage for the tubes I think will work. Or I might make a back panel for it. Here’s a few pics.

It wasn't until after I'd been playing my Tweed clones for a couple years that I plugged in the Delta one day and realized how bright it sounded. Probably my only complaint I ever had. I always wondered what proper rear panel would have done for that amp for the bass response.

For $200 though, I'd get it and see if it grows on me. If not, you can always make $150-200 on it.

Did you get it OP? I've got the DB210 in black as well. There is some sonic overlap with my SF Pro but not much. Beware of scratchy pots & tube rattle and enjoy the amp.

Got the amp. Man I love it. Only thing the blue marvels suck. Reason I know I hooked it up to a top of the line celestion 12 and wow! It sounds like night and day. So I just ordered two new Eminence Patriots Copperheads. I had some backstage points at MF so they ran me a cool 81 dollars. That’s a good American Voiced speaker so it should give it that blackface type tone. It gets it with the celestion hooked up. Glad I grabbed this amp.

Interesting. I found the Blue Marvels to be a perfect fit for the Classic 30/50/Delta Blues amps. No other speaker I put into my Classic 30 beat the Blue Marvel. To each his own I guess.

I agree. never had an issue with the BMs. Errr...

A while back I wanted to hear what it sounded like through my Pro's 212 cabinet so I wired the oxfords in series and plugged them into the 16 ohm output on the DB. No changes in overall tone but for trading some of the 210 punch for 212 thump.

Congrats. That was a steal.

I got my Classic 30 last year when selling my ancient Carvin 4x12 on CL. I had it listed for $145. Guy calls and wants to trade a Classic 30.
Earlier this year a Classic 50 was listed for $200 on CL and I should have jumped. Peavey Classic and Delta series...once in a while there are stupid cheap deals out there. Congrats on finding one!

They have no sparkle to my ears. Maybe I’m spoiled to Fender. But with the celestion the amp came alive. More harmonic and touch sensitive. Every player has their own tone they like I think is what it boils down to. I think in a real bright amp they might shine.

Mine will chime with the treble way up and the normal channel cranked, but I agree they do not sparkle. I do like the peavey's swampy ss tremolo better than the shimmery optocoupler in the fender.

Yeah that trem is swampy as my backyard after a good rain. I also put a 5751 in V2 and the gain channel sounds like a tweed now. V1 I went with an RCA 7025. V3 is a JJ and all the power tubes are JJ. This amp is a keeper. It will get gigged a lot. It’s an 04 so to be safe I’m going to have it recapped later with FT caps to make it as reliable as I can. I’m going to post a vid next with the before and after speaker swaps...just to see what everyone thinks.
