Long story short: on my music recording PC I accidentaly formatted a D: partition where my master "tapes" were stored. I've got a copy of everything except of the song I'm currently working on.
MIDI, wav. and Reaper stem data were stored in one folder that was about 5GB. What is the most professional and successful option in trying to rescue that kind of data?

Was it just a basic format?

i managed to recover some folders of photographs once in a similar situation using a free recovery software, so it should be possible. I can’t remember the name though. Not every file came back exactly as was but I assume the free version had limits.

i see similar offering same like Disc Drill, etc. but others may have a more up to date recommendation. Good luck.
