Bought the Pava Model A Wide Nut - Torrified Mandolin today. I am so excited to get this. Here a great video of Tom Ellis talking about his master builds and Pava...sounds like he does all the wood work and Pava assembles and then some...

Congrats! A few years ago I got to tour the Ellis shop and meet Mr. Ellis and Pava. The level of crafts(wo)manship and attention to detail that goes into these mandos is something else. Two of the nicest people to boot.

Well alright there’s a couple mandolin appreciater’s here. It arrived yesterday and really plays good. My Eastman 305 was a bit woodier sounding but after playing the Pava for probably 8-10 hours the strings are toning up real nice. But it plays like a dream, great sustain, nice clean notes on up the neck to around the 17 fret, further than I’ll be getting.

Wish I’d have kept my Eastman tho, if it only played as well as the Pava. There’s day and night difference tho and me and Pava just getting to know each other and it’s gonna be a real good friend. Now back to studying.
