Great band too!
I went to a taping of Late Night with David Letterman and had great seats in the center section near the stage. Paul Simon was the musical guest. Fantastic!
I went to see Paul Simon about twenty years ago. One of the best gigs I ever saw. It felt like I was in the Central Park concert film I'd seen.
He looks like he could play a detective in king of New York now, which I like, time has been kind to that mug, but I hear his name and the face of the kid singing bridge over trouble water pops into my head. I guess I missed a lot of Johnny Carson interviews across the years?
I saw him in the70's. All I can remember was American tune; GREAT song.
"Graceland" is one of my favorite albums top to bottom... what "I consider" a true masterpiece.
This is a great version... similar (yet still different) from the studio cut.
Love it - thanks for sharing!
Not a story I hadn't heard before, and many other stories like it. The thing is, I like a lot of artists music even though I might not like them personally. If morals/likeability were necessary I wouldn't have many artists in my playlists, they all come with warts .... with very few exceptions.
Case in point... Los Lobos is still on my playlists, even if I don't like the way "Steve Berlin" handled that interview . IMO it was a bitter tirade nobody needed to know.
