Went to the Paul McCartney “Got Back” concert last night here in Knoxville, and was totally blown away. I’ve never been to a better concert ever, and I’ve been to many over the last 50 years. Over 3 hours of fantastic music, old, new, and in-between. But not only was the music great, the visual effects were spectacular. The laser light show, the background video, and the pyro-techniques were all amazing. I was in awe of the “experience”. What a great entertainer! I’ve never paid so much for tickets, but I’ve never gotten so much for my money. I would go again for twice the cost. If you get a chance to see this tour, don’t miss it.

Great! How was the sound quality coming out of the PA system?

My wife and I saw McCartney twice in the twenty-teens. One of the venues had a somewhat distorted sound quality, but I forget which. One was in Dallas, TX, and the other in Bossier City, LA.

Great to hear.
I occasionally wonder what it would have been like to see The Beatles back "when" with the technologies of today......the modern sound systems, being able to reproduce the various studio effects and instrumentation, etc. I've often wondered if Paul and George shared a mic for their harmonies so they could better hear themselves, and sing the close harmony parts. I love that Paul still plays his concerts with two guitars, bass, and drums.....adding only Wix Wickens on keys, etc. to do everything else.
Glad to hear Paul still sounds great. :):):)

Amazing that Sir Paul is still out there doing this, cool! I've always felt that his living a life of positivity is a big factor in that, not to mention an unending drive to create and continue to excel. He, and the Dead, are always my go-to's when I need a bit of 'picking up'.

Yeah, saw Paul and his band, I think it's the same band he's touring with now, in Portland, OR when I was living there back in 04-05(?). Got tickets for my GF, wife now, and my Son and his wife. We were sitting 2 rows up from the stage on the side. Excellent seats and the show was amazing!! One of the best shows I've ever seen and well worth the $$'s.

He also had a 3-piece horn section on many songs where appropriate. All of the musicians were stellar.

I saw Macca in 02’, in the Fleet Center. Now the TD Boston Garden. That show was amazing. My wife and I still talk about his energy, sound and overall performance was par none. That was 20 years ago.

I saw Paul McCartney a few years ago and shared the exact same experience as you. It's one of the best shows I've been to actually. The music was great, and the production was fantastic. For a man that will be 80 this month, his energy levels are outstanding, and that really transmitted to the audience. Couldn't have asked for a better show and exceeded my expectations

Interesting......I've seen a couple of live videos where Wix did horn and orchestral parts on keyboard.....even the piccolo trumpet bit on Penny Lane.
The brass trio is called the “Hot City Horns”, and they are great. They made “Got to Get You into My Life” sound really special.

Saw him some 20 years ago when he was still Married to the girl with the fake Leg. Haley?

Anyway, that show was All Killer, No Filler from start to finish.
IMHO the Videos of the shows don't do them Justice.
Being there was everything.

Would the music stand on its own without the glitz?/would it still have excitement?

I don’t get going to a live music show to watch a screen and fireworks….
Seems like a lot of these older act’s do it because they’ve lost the pizzazz!

Don’t get me wrong I like these musicians as much as anyone

Not trying to infuriate anyone

Trust me, the music was wonderful, the musicians all excellent, and the arrangements were tight and exciting. I haven’t been to a concert in quite a while, and didn’t expect the visual/technical elements of the performance. But while my ears were experiencing a great band playing really great music, my eyes were mesmerized by what I was seeing. I’ve never been more completely entertained. Just delightful from beginning to end. Lots of fun!
