I have one of their Bubinga ones and like its perfect 1/2 circle contour.

Pau Ferro is described as sort of like Maple. I doubt anyone has one of the WD all Pau Ferro, but there s lots of Pau Ferro fingerboards now that Rosewood is being conserved. Any sonic impressions ? Merry Xmas .

Probably, using a contour gauge w the little pins its a perfect 1/2 circle, very comfy. They describe it as "Chunky". Since posting , from what I read, Pau is like Maple only prehaps a little more so, w a little better bass and "snap", altho Maple is snappy enough for me.

The Bubinga gives a Gibson vibe to the stock Baja body. A little tone tweaking w both p-ups in series and it pretty much sounds like a H.B..Nice balanced tone w stronger than Maple clear bass and smooth highs.

I've come this close to buying an all rosewood one and a pao ferro one a couple times. I always held back though. Kind of sorry I did...especially on the rosewood.

I got zapped w Cocobolo dust while not being careful during a build so I m hesitant about the Rosewood, since it can be nasty too.(also the Wenge since it will literally poison you if you get a splinter) Despite being darker than Maple as just a fingerboard, it can be kinda trebley if its the neck itself.YMMV

Hmmm... well, considering that, as well as Art’s Pao Ferro neck above, perhaps I’ll rethink Rosewood and go Pao Ferro instead. Thanks for the feedback.

By the way, does Pao Ferro require a finish? Or can you leave it unfinished like rosewood?

I think we need to HEAR [emoji101] some of these necks! Do any of you guys have demos of the guitars with these necks?

I’m just waiting for additional funds to get the Pao Ferro one because my all rosewood neck is really nice!

I got the all rosewood neck made by WD. It was attached to the ampro i traded in for the 62ri. Of course i re attached the stock maple neck and i kept the rw neck as it will def go to my grave.

Heres my demo on it.

I've got Pau Ferro as a fingerboard on my LP kit, due to Rosewood regulations. There is a lot of heavy duty mahogany on that guitar but it definitely has a zingy snap to it, could be the Pau Ferro? I treated it with Fret Doctor, which gives a nice slightly darker finish - you can get small bottles as it costs more than gold I think:lol:
