Ok, so there must be something I can knock up out of these and scrounged leftovers. Inspire me!

I have 6V6GTYs, ECC83s, ECC81s and 6N1Ps. Some weird old TV & radio valves I can sort through if anyone has an oddball tip for using them. EZ81 somewhere too but SS rectified is fine.

A 6k6 OT, says 40w and has UL taps.

    An 18watt PT.

    Go!

P-P OT I think. How about a hint on what you like to play. No sense building a metal amp if you like country.

    PP, yep.

Was trying to avoid prejudicing any ideas, but the previous builds that have survived are a P1-Ex / Tweed Champ thing and a Thunderbolt preamp / 5E5 thing.

So simple preamps, simple controls, cathode biasing and less usual PIs is the common theme I suppose.

I've got dips on my father in law's but he's still pretty lively and bigger than me

One of the guitarists in the praise band just finished a train wreck. He was complaining how loud it was so I suggested a pair of 6k6. It is still loud but it sounds killer. I think the ez81 might be a great addition. He used big iron but I don't see the need. It might be right up your alley. After hearing his, building one just might get on my to do list.

Done some reading of my Merlin 'Valve Wizard' Blencowe book and sketched this out. Seems nicely make do and mend.

Has anyone tried a cascode preamp?

Any comments on paraphase inverters? These PI divider values are the same proportion as old Supro/Gretsch/Valco efforts but scaled back to avoid going over the 6V6 grid leak max with my grid stoppers (not that it ever bothered anyone else)
