Where do you guys usually end up for height on P90s? I’m finding they sound pretty good raised up fairly high. And my quick Google search pulls up lots of recommendations for setting them around 1/8” below the strings. That seems crazy high to me. Normally I have found with regular single coils lower is usually better. So I’m just curious where everyone sets their P90s.

Depends on the P90. Some are "hotter" than others.
I have a Hamer Special with Lollars in it.
Standard wind in neck, high wind in bridge.
The neck pickup is slightly higher than the bridge.
Sounds balanced, even though the bridge has more bite.
I highly recommend Lollars. Great product, great customer service.

Funnily enough I've just been grappling with this today.

I just got a beautiful Yamaha Revstar Standard. I loved everything but the pickups, which sounded dark and muddy to my ears. No sparkle, no character.

I've just lowered them A LOT and they sound brighter and more open to me.

I set the bridge pickup about as high as possible and then lower the neck pickup until I get a good balance between the two with the stock p90's in my Gibson LP Special (both are 7.5k).
