Our church band has kind of been on repeat for a while and we're looking for some new stuff to play on Sunday's. What are your guys' current favorites to play?

"Break Every Chain" is a cool piece we just learned.
"Alive" is kind of a techno number, hard for the singers, but pretty good.
Israel Hourton songs are pretty interesting, jazz influenced, like "Again I say Rejoice"

Our team does too many to list, but a couple that we had fun with in rehearsal for this Sunday are "Mighty Fortress" by Aaron Shust (it's Reformation Sunday this weekend) & "This is Amazing Grace".

Holy cow someone else that does "Mighty Fortress!" I absolutely love that song.

Right now, "This I Believe" is probably my favorite worship song.

    A few others:
Blessed Be Your Name - Matt Redman
    Turn Around - Matt Maher
    Glory Bound - Matt Maher
Love Come Down - North Point

We've recently added We Believe, Forever Reign, The Same Love, and You Are Good, among others.

Here's a list (not the complete list--where did I put the rest of it?) of songs we are thinking about adding over the course of the next year (we won't add them all; about 1 new song a month seems to stretch our congregation's ability to pick up new music).

    * Jesus At the Center (like Israel Houghton, not Darlene Z)
    * The Table (Tomlin)
    * Hallelujah for the Cross (Newsboys)

**Come Alive (Dry Bones) (Lauren Daigle; same person as “How Can It Be”)
** Lord I Need You (Matt Maher) (includes old hymn lyrics)
** Because He Lives (Amen) (Maher)
    **God Is Able (Hillsong)
    ** Countless Wonders (Tomlin)
** Even So Come (Stanfill) (Good advent song)
** Jesus, Lead Me to your healing waters (Crowder; old country gospel feel)
** This is Amazing Grace (Phil Wickham)
** Oh, Great Love Of God (Crowder and Maher; this is a “Lamb of God” for communion)
    ** Second Chance (Rend Collective)
    ** My Lighthouse (Rend Collective)
    ** Rooftops (Jesus Culture)
    ** Unstoppable Love (Jesus Culture)

Even So Come is pretty awesome... doing that this weekend, most likely (I'm leading, so God willing, I'll drop it in)

Holy Visitation (Charlie Hall I think) is an older one we got out recently that is pretty cool too.

We really like the Bethel and Hillsong stuff

You make me brave - Bethel
    Sinking Deep - Hillsong Y&F
Touch the Sky - Hillsong United
    Ever Be - Bethel
    No longer Slaves - Bethel
    Beautiful Things -Gungor
All the poor and powerless -Gungor
Open up the heavens - Vertical Worship
    One Thing - Hillsong Worship

These are the most common for us and we love them all. We tend to change alot of the keys though

We debuted (for our church, anyway) Lift Your Head Weary Sinner today. I don't normally try and cop the same licks and tone as the records, but in this case, the full on fuzz found in Crowder's live recording of this song doesn't need any improvement! The only question for us was whether we could get away with the style. Yep.

I love that song! I agree, it sounds great just with big gnarly fuzz.

We played a new song called Death Was Arrested by Northpoint Worship(I think that's the name) last week in a semi acoustic ish set. It would sound really awesome with a full band so hopefully we play it next week(it didn't make the setlist this sunday).

Also we've taken a 90s worship song called One Name by the Southeast Christian Church in Louisville and turned it into a southern rock/bluesy song. Some overdriven power chords and D minor penatonic riffs/licks are all you need! The people at church seem to like it a lot as they do any song with that feel.

A few other good ones we've been playing more are Good Good Father and Broken Vessels.

We are getting ready to learn "Until My Voice Is Gone" by Travis Ryan this week. I love this song. I just hope we do the song justice.

Really like that song but we are currently challenged in the grove department with no bass player and a weak drummer. Want to do this one badly and in this Church environment could really RIP some guitar on that song!!

Here is a rather obscure song we really tore the place up with a few times at my former Church.
    Check out these lyrics!!
