I had the same model when I was in high school, circa 1974-75.
Mine had the Gibson embossed pickup covers, but not the rings.

I dig the look! I'm tempted to buy a pair and put them on mine for purely cosmetic reasons. :)

I don't know... I've never owned TV yellow and only rarely held one, so I can really be sure, but it has always seemed a bit out there as a colour.

A few years ago I decided to explore the world of P90s and acquired a few different guitars with them. Among them is this Gibson Special, on the left. Beautiful guitar, well made, plays well, sounds good. Like the LP Standard on the right.

Ultimately, though, mine now serve mostly to decorate the walls of my music room.

I found that I much prefer playing Teles and Strats (I prefer the longer scale and the way the Fender bodies balance so nicely when playing sitting).

And, I prefer the sound of the tones from Fender-style single coil pickups.

Does it have those big arse rocket launcher adjustable screws on the wraptail? Your image is grainy.

I have the same guitar in black. With the much-derided terrified maple FB. Terrific guitar, and my current favorite for playing out.

    I love P-90s.

My "Beater" guitar is a Epi LP Jr that I picked up new for $90. I Dropped in A GFS P-94 clone and all new electronics, including and audio taper volume pot.

    This thing does not disappoint!

I went to try out a guitar cab with it and the guy selling me the cab, wanted to play the guitar and LOVED IT too.

My SG and all of my Les Pauls (Special DC, 2011 Trad, GT, TH54) are P90 loaded. They all have their own voices. There is also an Epiphone Lp Pro with SD Phatcats that sounds just as good as all my others.

Gibson (stock) P90s sound great. Probably one of my all-time favorite pickups. Position of the pickup relative to bridge and 22nd fret matters, and of course, each guitar sounds a bit different.

I want one of these! Wish you put up the entire pic.

James Honeyman Scott would be proud.

Really? This is where the magic starts? It isn't the standard 1/8" or 5/64" from the strings for "Gibson style" guitars in Erlewine's book? I have been wondering about proper P90 heights.

I don't think the neck will get flush with the pickguard though, that seems way too low.

An Agile? Nice. I have quite a few.

It looked like you had these cheap Chinese allen head adjustments on your wraparound. I see on your follow up pic you have the grub screw type.

I have not compared them, but I love P-90's! I own quite a few of them as well.
