I saw one like this at a local shop yesterday... that thing was stunning!

$1000 for a Mexican Tele is a bit rich for my blood, but it's a looker for sure. Ebony fretboard, what looks like clay markers, Alder body, gold anodized guard. Don't know how they sound (didn't plug it in), but comes with Fender Pure Vintage '64 Gray-bottom single coils.

Thousand bucks, and no gig bag. :( That's disappointing.

I'd have to put a 3 brass saddle bridge on it and probably vintage style tuners which I prefer... but that's probably all I'd do.

The color in person is really, really beautiful.
I could eat that it looks so good!

This one?

Given that the top end of the MIM Fenders is $1,000-1,149, IMO this one is a high value guitar at its price point.

When you get to $1000 it's like you could make your own from Warmoth parts and get the same result but exactly the way you want it and the spec you want. Trouble with a MIM is that the day after you buy it the value is way down. That USA Parallel Universe Tele with the Strat body you see in the avatar of mine, still sells for the same money I paid for it 4 years on. And it plays great so not going to trade it ever.
I bought a classic 50s lacquer telecaster in 2017 for $900 new (with case). Used ones are $1100 plus shipping on reverb right now.

A player series might not hold it's value as well, but maybe it would, looking that nice with an ebony board.
$1000 is the new $600.

I like it, in fact it gave me a flash-back to the 60's color wise. I recently changed to a six-saddle bridge and prefer it over the 3 saddles for intonation and string-to-string balance (however, a nice 3 saddle would still do that Tele justice:)). If the bug gets too overwhelming, you might want to contact Fender direct for availability and quote. Seems they are in a discount mood at present.

Sir - I was pleased to see your post and confirmation these are super in person. The pic I saw had a gold PG and it makes a case for brass hardware along with your saddle moddy. Do love.

I prefer the old style three saddle bridge, but a six saddle bridge could be okay depending on the specific saddles. Can’t see them when you are playing, anyway.

Actually there are quite a few MIM Artist models that are well over $1,150. Since the PV 64 pickups are $150 they're basically charging you for a Player Tele and the pickup set. And it's a really nice color with an ebony fingerboard and the anodized pickguard.

I would also expect these to go on sale for a bit more reasonable price like $750 or $800 as we get closer to Black Friday. For example I wound up getting one of the GC Player Strat limited editions with a roasted maple neck and Fat 50s that was originally priced at $1,050 for $800 back in September and they have been marked down a bit more to $750 this week.

Gorgeous color combo and an ebony board, too! Sweet! I can see them getting $1k for it. The ebony board pushes it over the top for me.

Speaking of Oxblood... I bought/imported an Oxblood Cabronita with Gold anodized pick guard, from Andertons, a while back... I couldn't get that color here in the USA at that time. I am a big fan of deep red/wine/blood color guitars.

Oxblood has a deep, beautiful metal flake finish...

TVJones T-Armond pickup at the neck and Duncan Antiquity P90 at the bridge.

1000 is not shocking at all IMHO. I agree it should come with a nice bag, but nowadays we have MIM Fenders at 1500.
Having said that, it is a very nice looking Tele, and 64 pickups and ebony fretboard are definitely worth a try.

Beautiful guitar. I saw a Player recently in British Racing Green with a maple fretboard and some kind of Seymore Duncan pickups, but I don't really need another Tele. That's what I kept telling myself, anyway.

As far as prices go, I think it's the new normal. I'm ok with $1000 for a MIM Tele, since there are so many great used ones out there. What's going on with the housing market and what's being charged at the grocery store is what keeps me up at night.
Hello stnmtthw, I bought that telecaster, you speak of. It's great. It has SD Quarter pounders in the bridge and neck.
It's almost like humbuckers, but you don't lose to much of the telecaster spank. I put locking tuners on her,
and thru a Vox ac15, it's a great guitar.

What kind of tuners does it have?
All of my Fender guitars, and my Squier has vintage tuners. The only kind of tuner I like!
