What overdrive pedal do you love that has a quiet engagement switch (no "click")???

That would be hard to say..
As there are many pedals out there
My Origin Effects Revival Drive Custom has a “soft yet firm” engagement switch without the traditional “click”.

I agree that boss pedals are pretty quiet.
My fulltone ocd is definitely not, so rule that one out.

Is it ok to say I love turning up the volume knob on my guitar to push my amp into overdrive?

    Yes, indeed it is!
Just be sure the sound guy isn't out back for a smoke.

Boss is pretty quiet but my Rick Greer Relic Drive (no longer produced) is quiet except when it gets some corrosion on the contacts. 15 minutes every few weeks with some Deoxit silences it
I’ve had several Boss drive pedals and I prefer the Greer

Not your question, but I'm not a fan of overdrive pedals. OTOH, my favorite pedal is an MXR M-75 Super Badass Distortion pedal. Lots of sweet tones and super quiet.
