So I love my Vox AC15C2, but I have yet to find an OD pedal that I really like to run through it. Any suggestions? I thought I had it nailed with the E-H Hot Wax, but it just isn't cutting it.

Rat or Hotcake seem to get a few nods here.

I have a JOYO Sweet Baby that sounds good for a more mild OD and combined with my Rat clone works well too.

My setup is tele/strat into a Vox AC15C1 and I rotate these pedals as needed.

    Hotcake
Barber Gain Changer ( I'd start here)
    Prince of Tone
    Morning Glory
    Timmy
Xotic AC/BB/RC (AC is really good)
    Zendrive (my personal favorite)
    Dude
    GS124
    Simble
    Rat
    Mudhoney (v1)
    Xotic EP
    Lighthouse
    Paisley
    ODR-1
    BD2
    EGDM
    Chicken Soup
    Moonshine
And a ton of treble boosters
    As always YMMV.

I have the same amp and run a mojo hand blue bonnet special edition which I really like but when I really want to hit the sweet spot I use a tonerider British distortion. Unfortunately they no longer make them so they are hard to find.

I play through a vox ac30cc2 and run it with an EQD Speaker Cranker clone with a master volume and Caline Crazy Cacti. Both sound great.

The hotcake is a perfect fit for a Vox Amp, because it gives you extra Vox overdrive similar to increasing the gain knob on de Amp itself. It matches with the circuit, it was designed to do just that. Tried all sorts of overdrives, but this one really stands out. This, and a treble booster, which is awesome too, but a lot more dramatic. My two cents..

My favorite dirt pedal into my AC15C1 when I had it was a Quinn Hot Buttered Scotch. and I would hit that with a Timmy with the gain very low for a solo boost.

Saucy Box sounds great with my AC15c1 TB channel -- you can dial in a clean boost, then add as much grit as you want, and the distortion (Klon-ish) works well with the natural sound of the amp. Sounds like an AC-15 but "more." I was playing around with this as an always-on pedal, riding the volume on the guitar for more or less "more."

Alternatively, the Zvex Distortron sounds great with this amp, as it does with every amp I tried it with, by making it sound like a cranked Plexi. AC15? Cranked plexi. Twin Reverb? Cranked plexi. Etc.

Yes, and for a specific amp. Do you have a problem with that?

I have an EDQ Speaker Cranker and love it, so that's one I've been using. Just got it a couple of weeks ago and am still playing with it, but it's definitely going to see a lot of use. I also have an EDQ Arrows boost that plays nicely with the Speaker Cranker and Vox.
