I sometimes flag the posts with crazy prices. I live in an area where it's mostly low income so selling anything on CL for more than 100 takes months. Or usually not at all. What gets me are these guys with fancy Les Pauls that they put up for 2-3k. Seriously? Nobody is going to be walking in your door with that kind of cash. Or they may come over just to steal it.

Not your place to do that. A DB move for sure.

Shake your head, laugh about it with us, and move on.
I sell quite a bit on craigslist and there is nothing more irritating than being contacted by an uninterested individual who wants to criticize and critique your item/price/posting.

I'd rather see someone have something over priced than some idiot sending me ridiculous low ball offers that no one in their right mind would accept. Very annoying. But I suppose everyone wants something for nothing lol.

CL flaggers are amongst the worst kind of busybodies (not that there's really any good kind). End of story.

I don't get the flagging comment, who gives a crap...it's really not your business. You can price something any way you want, if you're not using my money I don't care what anyone does. And if I want to, I will simply make an offer.

I usually just Email them to tell them they're asking too much, and are lying about the retail price, or power rating, (if it's an amp). They usually just ignore me, but sometimes fix their errors in the posting.

You aren't kidding. I recently picked up an old DeArmond M75 off of Craiglist for $150. The other day, out of curiosity, I checked out Reverb to see what they were going for over there. Asking prices were $500+. That's simply crazy. I feel like I got a great guitar for $150. There's no way on earth I would pay $500 for it.

I only flag or report if I think larceny is being attempted.
Many CL price postings are unrealistic, or overly optimistic.
I really love (not) the modded, mid grade stuff that the seller tries to get extra money for.
I also am greatly annoyed by Epiphone “Gibson” branding and Squier “Fender” branding.
Usually the upshot is that this stuff stays on CL for weeks or months till the seller removes the ad, or it expires.
    No biggie.
I doubt many people actually get burned.
The Google is your friend, you know.
