Im working on a Reverend Hellhound, the chinese output transformer is not ok. Merc magnetics makes a replacement for $208 plus. Has anyone used a Hammond or other replacement? I'm thinking of just finding one for push pull 6l6's. What say you?

I don't know about that amp, but I use Hammond transformers for all my clone builds. They have a pretty full catalog of Fender & Marshall replacements. Maybe decide what amp would be a close equivalent and see what they have for it? It will be probably half or a third of the Mercury price.

I would think any good 6L6 in the voltage range would be fine. Is it a push pull amp?

Any spec'd for a Pro Reverb or Bandmaster replacement.
Small light cheap and fine for 40w or so.

Owner's manual says it can run at 40W or 60W.

How big is it? How many mounting screw does it have and what is the distance between them? It isbprobably Bandmaster like, but it could be Bassman like...
