That's pretty much what I decided. I assumed the right side when reading the text was the outer foil. Though it does make sense to me that the outer foil going to ground could provide a little bit better noise rejection, as well as the psychoacoustic effects of knowing it's in the "right" way. But I'll be objective this time and use my ears. I watched a you tube video that demonstrated that the markings arent always correct anyway. Made me want to get an o-scope so I can test and mark all of mine.
