I'm looking for an OT that can be used in an amp designed to accept either 2x6v6's or 2x6l6's into an 8 ohm speaker. Is it available off the shelf? Do you think it can be custom made?

    Thanks.

Something with about 25-30W power rating and 5k - 6K6 Pr Z (if you want to keep it simple), or a 30W with 4k Pr z and 4, 8 and 16R secondaries (if you want to get fancier with the load resistances). JM2CW

Mercury Magnetics makes the FTDO-59M, with 5K6 and 8K taps.

Or you could accept 4K for the 6L6s, and use a normal-priced Hammond with multiple taps, and just use the correct other tap for the 6V6s.

    for 6L6: 4K/8 = 500/1 ratio
    4K/4 = 1000/1 ratio

so the 4ohm tap would give you 8K with 8 ohms, which would work for 6V6s.
