I have a 1970's Osborne Stinger solid state amp. It's the only amp I've ever had so I have nothing to compare it to. Does anyone know how they rate? There was a thread years ago about this amp but I've never heard anyone rate it.

    Welcome to TDPRI.

I'm not at all familiar with Osborne, but if it's still sounding good after almost 50 years, it's probably good. You might want to audition some other amps. I'd start with a 65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue (DRRI) using your own guitar.

If you don't think the DRRI sounds better, stick with what you've got.

OTOH, if the Osborne is not sounding good, it will probably cost more for an amp tech to diagnosis it than the amp is worth. Repair on old SS amps is hard to come by and usually costs more than the market price for the amp.
