Opinions on whether this grill cloth is original or repro replacement on this 1967 princeton reverb? Sorry not the best pics.

Not sure those pics will allow anyone to reach a conclusion.

Best I can do is I took two high resolution shots of the two 1966 examples I have that I know are original. Perhaps they can allow you to judge for yourself by closely comparing the sample you have.

Don't quote me...
I have heard the aftermarket cloth has fewer columns in the weave. I count 13 columns under the Fender grill badge on your example. Looking on Reverb, the examples that claim to be original have a 13 count. The Re-Issues and refurbished examples have fewer than 13 columns under the Fender badge.

The distance from center to center of the vertical wales or ribs on the original cloth will be right at 13/32”. On modern cloth, that measurement is about 3/32” greater….1/2” as I measure it. That cloth may well be correct for the era.
If a person pulled the chassis and saw black staples, that is an indication that the cloth is original, too. I have a ‘63 Pro with correct cloth, but the staples are not black. My friend did not spray paint the staples before redoing the cloth about 27 years ago. Some people actually spray staples….and maybe misrepresent????
When dealing with vintage Fenders one wants to know much more than is the cloth correct….but I agree that is important if the asking price is for ‘all-original and excellent’ condition. What are the transformer and speaker codes? What work has been done on the circuit? There is an old saying…”Looks can be deceiving.“ In the world of valuable collectibles, that is a warning that would be well to heed.
