A quick one. I think I've worked out an answer from posts here, but I'd l appreciate your confirmation. It's probably been asked a zillion times, but I know you like helping and like pics even more.

Over the years I've accumulated a number of pedals. I've whittled the random collection down to these few and bought a Voodoo power supply to simplify the wiring.

    What order to run them?

    In alphabetical order:

    Blues Breaker o'drive - Marshall
    Ditto looper - TC
    Flashback 2 delay - TC
Prism sort of selective booster - Jackson Audio
    RC-20XL looper - Boss
    Skysurfer reverb - TC

Might also include an old Dod Compressor/Sustainer and if I could find it and it works (I had it a year or two back and it didn't) a CryBaby wah. Probably a Beat Buddy drum machine pedal. Where would they go?

I usually just do alphabetical order. Then I'll swap in and out to color coordinate. Ymmv

I'd go wah, delay, reverb first from guitar, OD and booster pedals last. Loop either at the beginning or end as decided by your ears....

I think reverb first, right before looper, no?

It really becomes a what do you like best drill. Based upon what you've named, I might put one of the loopers at the end...if adding a wah and compressor I'd put them before your OD (wah>>compressor>>OD)...I have no idea where an opening argument for the drum machine resides. Experiment, enjoy (I've changed my pedal board four times in two months :D).

I could go on and on about pedal order but I will just say this:
Pick up an Acoustic 50 watt bass amp for 150 bucks (if you don’t already have a bass amp)and run the beat buddy separately through it. It’s incredible with a bass amp.

Thanks for this - it pretty much confirms what I got from various posts herexand elsewhere.

This is the tentative order I'd come up with. Guitar in at the right to the Blues Breaker and out to the amp at left from the Boss looper. Open to suggestions though.

If I use them, wah and compressor before the Blues Breaker. Beat Buddy I think immediately before the Ditto, but I'd experiment.

    Thanks everyone for your time.

Personally I go, guitar->wah->OD->compressor->delay->amp with reverb. I can't speak to the loopers or booster (but I use the OD and/or compressor as boosts.) Back when I got a Keeley compressor, I assumed it would go before an OD but on his website he suggested putting it after the OD; while saying also to try changing that up to see what you like best.

Sometime I'm gonna reverse the whole thing and see how much difference it makes. Already have found out that the wah and a fuzz do not like each other!

I like that idea. I used to run a now lost Alesis SR 16 through my Trace Elliott BLX and feed into the looper. And you're right. My drummer son used to programme it for me and we could have gathered complaints from several streets away. Still got it and also a little PJB Double 4 - amazing for the size.

Actually I think I might scrub the Beat Buddy and get another Alesis. Thanks for that prompt.

Thanks. I don't have any of these specific pedals, but I see the principal you're using which I think is much like where I'm starting from.

Moving right (in from the guitar) to left (out to the amp) on my board, first my OD’s, then EQ, then Delay, and finally Reverb.

When I’m playing in a band, I have my Boss TU-2 tuner and a Dunlap Wah, in front of my OD pedals.

This works pretty well for me. My only question/doubt with my board is the position of my EQ in the chain.

I like wah first and trem last.

And I like overdrives (a.k.a. boosts and distortion) before most other effects (e.g. reverb, chorus, delay, trem).

Other than that, I've never noticed any difference where the pedals go.

And I have no idea what to do with a looper.
