I just joined with an AD30HTC.

I had purchased a Twin Reverb reissue for $550 (it came with a fight case that I can sell to recoup a little of the money that I paid for the amp), and I just traded that Twin straight up for the AD30. So that means that I got the AD30 for $550, or whatever the final total works out to be once I finally get around to selling the flight case.

Hi folks, love my Orange CR120H & 2x12 closed back cab as my main amp atm. Bassbreaker 15 combo as spare.

Picked up a new (to me) 1x12 cab for use at home with my JR head.

It's a Panama cabinet with a boutique V30 and built in attenuator.

Great improvement over the Vox nightrain 1x12 cab. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'm new to the party as I just bought a Tiny Terror. Lots of gain on tap.

That cab looks really neat. Seems like a lot of thought went into it's design!

    Agreed.

It also has a removable back panel so you can change it from closed to open back.

    Hello to all ...

Can anyone give me a heads-up on using the Orange Rocker 15 for Blues/60s R'n'B?

I suppose I'm really asking more specifically, can the Gain channel "Dirt" control be used for anything other than "heavy"?

Currently using a Blackstar HT5R at home and an HT20 rehearsal and rare live outings (that gets left in the garage rather than lugging it about).
Both are the Mk1 versions and I really only use the Clean channel on both (Vol&Tone) and positively hate the Gain channel on the HT5R, it goes from off to Death-Metal in a Gnats leg turn.

Give this a bump too, just in case anyone from this sub-forum has just come on-line.

To answer my own question ... yes I'm pretty sure it will.
Orange Rocker 15 arrived yesterday, only just started breaking in the speaker but am very impressed with it's two channels.

A while back I did try a Crush 35R in a store, just for home use, but was dismayed how quickly it went from clean to almost fuzzy.
Different beast here, of course, but channel 2 is very malleable. 15W far too loud for home, so that'll have to wait until .... who knows when now?

7W could be usable at home but 1 W and 0.5W definitely are, of the two 1W is a tad better but volume wise the difference is almost not there - to the extent I wonder why they bothered with it?
    eg @ 1W clean vol @ 10 o'clock and Dirty Channel Vol @ 12 o'clock and Gain @ 9-10 o'clock are fine.
So, can't wait to try it out with the rest of the band and, for our purposes (100+ would be a big audience for us :p), I think it'll manage live not just in rehearsals.

btw - prior to buying I was thinking of changing the speaker to a G10 Greenback .... nah

I have so many Orange amps that I don't know where to start except for my current gig rig which are AD30TC combos on 4X12's for outdoor gigs.....

I have a 1974 OR120 head. The 4x12 went years ago to make room but I kept the head. I can’t use it because it is simply too loud, but it’s a nice bit of nostalgia.

    Hiya!

Recently replaced my Crush 35RT with a Rocker 15.

I was impressed with the Crush, preferred the tone to pretty much anything under £500, but the Rocker improves on it in pretty much every respect.

It's much nicer at lower volumes:
I have to say that the 1W setting is pretty much perfect for home use with either channel, it takes pedals very well and the 10 inch speaker is very balanced at moderate volumes.

I managed to let it rip at 15W whilat demoing at the shop and it was just fine at hellish volumes too!

Again, I feel it had a much more complex, satisfying tone than the other amps I tried in this price range.
Appears to be very well built and I just can't get over how easy it is to get great tones.

Wonderful versatility too, everything from lush clean tones to a hugely effective mild crunch and on to modern gain.

Another very happy Orange owner here.

    Edit - re pedals:
As stated by many other owners above, I don't think it really needs much at low volumes. I use a Muff and an SD-1 and find they deliver the best results when barely ticking over.

Back in the Orange Club, it’s been about 4 years since owning my last Orange Amp. Just picked up a new Rocker 15. Only a store photo since I’m not home yet. Can’t wait to test it at home in the lower watt settings.

Got the amp home and I’m deciding whether to keep it or return it. This amp was a display model that I was allowed to take home before my new in-the-box amp arrives.

The dirt channel is just a bit too raspy for my liking with the gain up to Zeppelin or ZZ-Top levels. I’ll experiment a few more days before making my decision.

How do you like them both?
I didn't get to try the Rocker 15 yet, I'd really like to give it a good run through and see what it's like.

Just use 2 EL34s and double the speaker load (for ex. use a 16 ohm cab instead of 8).

Suppisedly you'd want to remove the outer pair or the two in the middle.
