In an attempt to have a visage that doesn't totally resemble the unkempt old man that I am on the inside, I use clippers weekly to keep my remaining hair between and #2 and a #4 depending on the season.
This morning I ran the clippers over it to avoid those weird sprouting hairs that grow like Japanese Knotweed and as I looked into the sink I thought 'thats a lot of hair...' a thought I repeated on the second swipe across my bonce.
Sure enough after dissembling and cleaning the clippers last time I'd used them I'd not put a clipper guide back on. It was just the steel baseplate contacting my skin.

I now look somewhere between Angry Sinéad and the result of conflict with the nit nurse.
I was going to do it anyway but I may have chosen to wait until summer. Plus side is I now apparently look 'well hard'. So now I'll be getting into fights I'd normally avoid by looking totally wimpish.

What have you screwed up lately?

Mrs Strum used to cut my hair with scissors. Two dogs ago we had a cockapoo and got a lucky dog clipper. My wife decided that the clippers would also work on me. I balked for a while, but she can be persuasive; I said give it a try.
1st pass she said ooops😂
I have cut my own hair since~

Not lately, but there was - - was - - a time when I thought cutting one's own hair could require only so much skill. When I was "done," I looked like this (but not quite as neat):

When I went to my usual stylist she was quiet for a bit. I said, "there's more to it than I thought." She said, "I've seen worse."

Hearing the person cutting your hair say "oops" is never a good thing !

I once made a similar mistake. The shaving of the head was intentional; the mistake was the timing, as I chose to do it in January. In Winnipeg. I spent the next three months trying to force my hair to grow with the power of my will. Also, wearing a toque 24/7.

From the title I thought this thread was about my birth.

Its happens. I end up looking like a chalk board that just got erased.

But seriously, you got to check those clipper heads. 👾
I always shave my head with no guard, but a friend of mine had the same accident as you.
He came to work one day looking like a convict!!!

I'm apparently younger looking than my age but in the local pub last night I was told the close cropped hair has knocked years off me. So I'm either unlikely to be served beer now without any ID or they've been lying all along.
Either way it's staying short now.

I shave my head with no guard. For special events I blade it down to nothing, but most times it is a no guard once a week.

I also trim my beard with the same clippers, however I use the 1/4" and the 3/8" guards for the beard.

One morning I mowed the noggin, then went to do the beard and forgot the guard. Took all the hair off my chin right in the middle.

Tried to do a little Lemmy action but he has a nicer chin than me. My wife hated it.
