Thanks for posting that. I rode dirt bikes a lot in the 70's. Mostly trail riding, but did race a few hare scrambles and ran some 100 mile enduros. Been throwed off a motorcycle more ways than can be imagined, but luckily I never broke any bones or sustained any real serious injury. Had a lot of fun doing it too.

Former dirty here. Would go with friends to watch the Baja races and three days of beers, tequila, girls and sunshine. Miss my TT500 for sure.

And a bit more from Toby Price, he didn't feature in the movie of the trailer I posted (he didn't race that year due to injury).

    Can ride..
Watch him throw his street bike around in the dirt like it's a toy

I’m always actively looking for a steel tank dirt bike... they are rare as unicorns where I live and I’m swiftly aging out.

Started out on a ‘68 DT250. We would get our bikes loaded on the trailer to head out for the weekend, and my dad would holler after us “have fun destroying those fragile eco systems”.

    Thanks dad, you old killjoy!

Also figured out an ATC 110 would fit in a VW bus with the middle seats removed. Use to go get silly on the dry lake beds, up in the hills , etc.

3 or 4 Coronas, a little smoke, and putt around naked

all the things we would never want our children to do

The Suzuki DR650 is a steel tank dual-sport, if that counts...my old Husky 430 from the mid 70’s had an aluminum factory tank, which left off in favor of a plastic tank (why dent an expensive tank?)

They both count in my book.
I always dug the Husky tanks with the polished part showing through

I have a young guy who says he knows where an RL250 is in a barn... no engine. I’m holding my breath that it’s not a dead end.

I had an XL500R in 83, and would often go riding with a workmate on his XL250S. Good times..

Different style here in Bmore. Sound off if you can’t dig the trap.
