An appropriate quotation from Shakespeare, "King Henry V"...

Tomorrow morning, at the inexcusable hour of 6:30 a.m., I have to be at the hospital for the 5th cancer surgery in two years. I admit, I'm tired of constantly being 'in recovery' and never really recovered, from the surgeries. I'm tired of hurting, and feeling sick, and never being able to see any roadsigns about where I'm going. And it seems that I just get feeling reasonably well and start doing things again and I find out that remission is over, tumours are back, and I have to go through surgery and chemo all over again. Mind you, there's the alternative... nope. Not going there. The battle once again commences!

Thanks to all my TDPRI friends for their wonderful good thoughts, music and prayers in the past. I'd like to ask you to do so once more, as the battle still rages...

My gosh, I had no idea.
May God guide the hand of the surgeon and heal you.

    Keep strong brother!

Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

I've known several who have fought this terrible fight. I'm always amazed at the courage they have shown. I'll not pretend to know the strength it takes but I will say they survived. I hope the 5th time is the charm for you an you finally defeat this. Best wishes.

iv had over 50 major operations already and im not even 40, i turn 40 on the 17th. , iv died, had to learn to walk 3 times, had to learn to see again 2. etc. I do not have cancer yet ( but if figure ill get colon, or some kind of problem with my digestive system it has to happen ), but i feel i can relate. last year i almost died from a anurizom, so i had to have brain surgery. this July my vision went bad again.. i went to the hospital early this time. thankfully they were able to help me with out having brain surgery. last time i was blind by the time i got to the ER. i live in chronic pain and wonder why i even keep going.. and like you it gets so old. anyhow, stay positive my friend i know its hard at times. i truly do. i do not believe in god etc. but i know positive thinking is good. so i'll send you some good warm vibrations and happy thoughts bro.. stay strong and remember that guitar is the best therapy iv found ibet its even better because you can play (im just a noob, laughs.. fear.. hands out ear plugs in advance.. sorry for the bad sounds coming from my room in advance. but damn it sure makes me smile when i do get that riff, or lick sounding good :p). stay strong, and try to keep positive. you rock man. and ill send these classy women on over to sing you some feel good music. they are hard core with their cigarbox's. fear pretty girls who sing the blues on on home made guitars:D
