That was great! Huge fan of Max Headroom. One of the few things I watched on tv back then. While my thoughts were not as “deep” as the video pointed out it, to me, was a perfect paradox of life and 20 minutes into the future
Our own @muchxs has posted about being a part of the Max Headroom team. I can't find the post due to the ambiguity of the keywords on an amp forum, oh well.
In the '80s, all my personal headroom was "in my pocket", as my dad used to say. I was busy neglecting my family in favor of becoming a small-business bigshot, wearing red powerties and taking people to lunch. I knew who Max Headroom was, but that was about it. Great video.
I seem to remember him doing a Pepsi (?) c commercial back in the'80s.
I never did understand how so many people devined so much from that commercial.
(But then, I didn't get MTV either)
A search for “headroom” by member led me to this:
This is what I found: https://www.tdpri.com/threads/thoughts-on-this-theory.973274/page-2#post-9283224
I only saw him in a couple of Coke commercials. That video is 38 minutes long, so he shall remain a mystery to me.
Oh yeah, loved Max!
Does anyone else see the similarity in Max Headroom and a certain Blooze player's stage persona?
That show was so far ahead of its time when it aired. Now look how much of it has come true.
I loved that show when it was on. And.....
Jeez, can this guy be a little more succinct and not biased? No idea if he's on point or stretching his idea into something that's not there. Good grief.
I gotta punch out of this.
He made music too!
Just in case you forgot the '80s, heh...
Got the single on the shelf:
I didn't know he had a show, so I only knew him from the soft drink commercials.
I expressed no "idea" at all, and the only bias I have here is against sitting still for 38 minutes to watch a video.
You're the one who's seeing something that isn't there. Good grief, indeed.
It seemed like Mr. Flat was saying he had no idea what the video was getting at because he wasn’t about to sit though it either.
Together we can get through this thread.
LOVE Max; miss him terribly. Still cannot believe the series has not been released on Blu-ray.
This being TDPRI, it's hard to believe no one has mentioned Amanda Pays yet... yowza.
Well, this video is actually longer, but may be more informative/entertaining; it's Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future, the original TV movie that preceded the TV series by a year or so.
I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about the video where the guy is seeing white bias and all sorts of nonsense that probbaly wasn't a part of the original idea. I made.it about 13 minutes.
