My city will be hosting the 2032 summer Olympics.
I plan to enjoy them.
I'll just be happy to be still here in '32...
Anna be grinnin' like a cheshire cat...
Another summer olympics in the winter! What's next: embracing the metric system or ... driving on the left side of the road!
The world is going mad.
"Feed your head".
I was gonna say a good excuse for finally visiting the land down under, but @Rick330man has a good point. WTH?
Winter around Brisbane is great , it only gets cool in the pre dawn hours, when the sun is out it climbs to 20+ C fairly soon... the ocean temp rarely drops below 20C in winter...
it's beach weather for a good part of it.... a lot of southeners and kiwis from the colder parts come up here for winter to warm up ...
I think the athletes will love it...
Brisbane in winter is pretty warm!
what month is it in? I haven't heard that yet..
Well the surf event has the potential to be top notch.
Tentatively set for July 23 -August 8
Sydney 2000 was last two weeks in September
Rio 2016 was middle of August
You would not want an Olympics to be held in the middle of a Brisbane summer.
the way summers have been going in the nth hemisphere, they'll be glad to get away from their heat..
Please direct me to the “good point” because I can’t find it.
Cool, that gives me 10 yrs to clean out the shed and the old chook pen, get a few old dunga caravans and site sheds, a bunch of hammocks and start me up an Olympics air B&B visitor hub....
should make a motza,,,
Well, I don’t know what winter in Australia is like, but now that I think about it more, it just might be the mildest place on Earth to hold the Summer Olympics by 2032.
In which event will you be competing?
Winter in Brisvegas = a balmy day anywhere in North America. Shorts, t-shirt but a little cooler at night so you need a hoodie.
Queensland summers - perfect burnished blue skies, 40 deg one day, 125mph cyclone the next.... Or the rivers are flooding and bridges all down.
Average Brisbane-ite, sinking XXXX stubbies. The rest of Australia reckons it's called XXXX coz you normally say 'xxxx' when tasting it. Also, Queensland is the Tennessee of Australia, and Banana-benders can't spell beer!
no no, you say fourex.... not ex ex ex ex ... just to clarify that..
Hmmm, that’s too bad. Probably a bit too toasty by 2032.
Very few summers around the coast here get to 40... mostly it hovers around 30.... and cyclones haven't been coming this far south for decades...
Bris is kinda in the goldilocks zone for warm climates..
