wrote to Fender about that COA and warranty card, here is the answer I received.

    "Hello Stephane,

The first picture I see is that someone mistakenly registered this for our Custom Care program for Custom Shop models. The return info sent is handled by a third party company and they don’t verify the serial number information against what the product actually is. Unfortunately the extension of warranty would not pertain to this instrument because it is not a Custom Shop model.

The details for the warranty on this production instrument I have attached in a PDF file.

Unfortunately the thread on this forum seems to be a little misguided.

    Best Regards-

I just joined this forum after looking up information on these beautiful instruments. I was lucky enough to buy 2 of these when they came out in 2011, from 2 different online retailers. Since I was buying them sight unseen, I wanted to at least have a choice. I never sent back the one I didn't bond with, and it is still in the case in the shipping box. If someone by chance is still looking for one of these, I have one that is still minty fresh in the box available. Cheers!

Does it have the Browns Canyon plate or the Old growth?

It is an Old Growth one. I got drawn in by the Brown's Canyon story and pre-ordered from two different retailers, knowing that the wood might have all kinds of interesting character in it. After they released them as Old Growth instead of Brown's Canyon, I was a tiny bit disappointed, but they were still cool, so I picked my favorite of the two and started playing it, the other I put back in the case and shipping box and toyed with sending it back, but I just hung on to it. I hadn't really thought much on pricing, but what about $1700? I am open to offers, but don't really need to move it. I paid full retail for it on release, so I've got a good bit in it.

Well mine's not mint, slightly played. But it's already in Canada, Jethro, if you're interested.
Anyone interested can email me for more info and pics at [email protected]

    My Old Growth Telecaster

These guitars are just great, great tone! Great craftmanship these one´s a keeper!! I had other teles and now I have these one and a Custom Shop Telecaster Custom 3 color sunburst with a hot nocaster pickup in the bridge and a twisted pickup on the neck, great tone too and a great guitar all-round they sound different of course but I have to say, the old growth is at the same level as far as playability, craftmanship, those anyone know if the telebration series were made by the guys down at the custom shop? Thanks!

What a beauty, congrats! I don't think it was build by the CS folks though, as nice as it is.

I've never been really happy with the pickups until I put a set of Vintage Vibe Charlie Christians in it. With .011 flatwounds it now is an awsome Jazz guitar. So lightweight, so much tone.

I slapped this one together just recently. It has a Squier 24-3/4" scale neck and a G&L MFD pup..'bout as simple as it gets.. It's very light bright and airy. Came out of a house built in '38,, I have another on the bench (a Tele duh) pics later

Nice, but the high end access look a bit rough.
