Okay then, seeing as how 2020 is a lousy year, let's create a hitparade for the lousiest songs EVER.

I’m guessing it’s the yodeling. Drove the guitarist in the band, Jan Ackerman, crazy as well. I’m not a fan of prog rock but that band was something else. And Jan Ackerman is beyond belief, untouchable in my estimation.

Anybody mention "I Made It Through the Rain" by Barely Manninuff?

That one is tied with Billy Joel's Big Shot.

Yep, this could be the winner. However, the video is so bad so annoying and so weird that I wasn’t even hearing the music. The matching bad suits and white shoes, the completely uncharismatic lead singer, the disturbing choreography, the 12 year old maniacally grinning, creepy Donny osmond looking bass player....it’s really beyond belief. And I can’t help but to want to watch it again!!

Good story there that I did not know, but still really dislike the song and plan to turn it off immediately should it play on any format as long as I draw breath.

Just remembered the Black Eyed Peas recorded "My Humps"
Oh, and Eddie Murphy recorded "Party All the Time"

I know it's become a meme but all of my other ones have been covered already in this thread (shoutout to Imagine, Susudio, Achy Breaky Heart, Built this City).

Edit: Jump to 1:35 if you don't remember the song.

I have just never got it. I was born in '83
So, no, I don't understand the phenomenon... but I certainly remember his music played 'round the clock. I even had friends that liked him... I just always wondered why. Flaccid was a very good adjective you used... as well as formulaic. Couldn't have said it better myself. There are a lot of popular songs that I don't like. But he's one of the only artists that, in my ears, doesn't have any redeeming quality.

Probably mentioned a lot already, but

    "Hey Ho" by the Lumineers

It actually makes me want to destroy something if I can't switch channels to get rid of it.

    Hmmmmmmm, let's see.

The worst songs of all time are pretty much, anything written and released after 1990.
