What gets on your last nerve with a Tele....for me it’s freaking neck pickup screws....like how many times are you gonna move the height of your neck pickup....set it and go...while adjusting simply remove the pick guard.... neck pickup screws are freakin ugly....js

I have been playing Telecasters for years.

My biggest pet peeve is that I can play masterfully set after set, and look really cool with my Tele, but the hot chicks only approach me on breaks to ask for the drummer's telephone number.

    :(

Why not just get a vintage pick guard without the holes and mount your neck pickup to the body?

    Problem solved ;)

Mine are all perfect Thank You

2 extra screws in the pickguard aren't a dealbreaker for me.

Mine’s a little on the heavy side but otherwise a great guitar with N4 Noiseless pickups. On my nerve? No. It sits on my lap.

Removing the PG is a PITA; I want PU screws
And I wanna be able to adjust the TR without taking off the PG too.

I kinda like mine. But it has a pick guard and I mostly play with just my mitts. So why can't I get one with a finger guard? (or a hamfist guard to be more precise)

It's not the Tele's fault, but what gets on my nerves is that I can never, ever drill those darned holes through the body so they line up nice and purdy on the back.

My only gripe is mine is heavy, or heavy for me
( bad back- I play sitting down but I don't even like taking it to gigs)

It's probably only 9 lbs. ( 2004 Standard, alder body?)
Other than that- never any issues- a great player

I can’t think of anything. My squier nneck could be a mm wider? Sometimes I push the top string and the bottom string of the neck. But I rarely use them anyway, so…

Mine, from heaviest to lightest, are my Tele, LP Junior, SG, Washburn acoustic. The Tele weighs in just at 9#, the SG & Jr are around 8#, the acoustic (has never been weighed) is very light.
The strat, still looking for a buyer, is around the Tele weight. Maybe a bit lighter but not by much

My Tele has a very thin and vintage radius-ed neck so while I love it (though it weighs as much as me) my fingers are always in the wrong spot on the Tele after playing my other guitars.

It is also so cool looking that chicks only want to talk about the Tele and never about me.

If using a black guard, using black pickup screws makes them practically disappear.

I hate Teles because they are so simple, yet elegant and beautiful. They come in various nice colours (butterscotch blonde, vintage blonde, sunbursts, lake placid blue...) and 'subtypes' (regular Tele, Deluxe, Custom, Thinline, Esquire, Cabronita...).

I hate them, because I want to buy all of them
