tonight, the weekly brewpub house band gig. I'm doing a little double duty, as the guest artist tonight (a duo of brothers) has asked me to sit in as a sideman/guitar player for a handfull of their songs. He sent me some links to do a little homework and sounds like some good songs and some fun.

I'll be plugging in the tele to my BF Tremolux/homemade cab. Got a new pedal on the small board to try out as well - Pigtronix Disnortion Micro - was liking some of the sounds I was getting this weekend, so we'll see how it fits in real time. I like the distortion/OD sounds a lot, the fuzz? Well, I'm not much of a fuzzhound.

Next gig is Saturday night at the "Heavenly Dive" in Providence. Always a great time there!!
I'll be using my "Alligator Strat", my 2x12 "Hard Trucker style" cabinet , and a Quilter MicroPro Mach 2 head.

Then, on Sunday I'll be playing bass with my "Irish eclectic" band...fiddle, acoustic guitar, accordian, bass. I'll be using my 51RI P-Bass straight into the PA.

I have my regular Tuesday gig tonight.
It’s been more fun lately, and way busier.
Lots of small business Christmas parties.
I relearn and replay the tunes every year, I cannot commit them to memory.
I have a great musical memory, if I do say so myself.
I just can’t stand hearing or playing Christmas songs.
    Sorry.
Anyways, I always try to find a small way to shake myself awake on this one.
Maybe I’ll bring the Larrivee or Firebird.
    Maybe.

    P.S. Tonight’s my bass gig.
    Doh!

Playing with the country band tonight in a bar in Pacifica. The bass player was hesitant to play this place. He said it’s a rough crowd... but I have friends that played there a lot and they say it’s fine. Bringing my Tele and Bad Cat.

Open Chord in Knoxville, Friday night.

I'm considering taking the Pro Junior and my new (to me) American Standard HH Stratocaster. I may give the es 335 a break this week.

Tomorrow night. Acoustic classic rock band. I recently picked up a small Yamaha 6 channel mixer to make it easier to swap guitars and mandolins when live. I plugged my vocal mic into it too. Wow! It adds some type of velvety finish to my vocals. My voice cuts through better too. Model is an MG06X. Phantom power too if wanted. Allows me a little more eq and FX options too. Cheap and good value! Very happy!

Additionally I called the venue to try and reserve a table for some friends for the gig. Looks like another full house. Tomorrow gunna be a gooder!

I have my regular bass gig tonight.
I’m going to bring my red PRS SE Kestrel bass.
    It needs exercise.
I usually use my sunburst Kestrel, with Kinman noiseless pickups and T/I flatwound strings.
The red one has it’s original J bass type pickups and Fender flats.
    It looks more Christmas-ey.
The venue has been packed with holiday revelers lately.
The crowd and the leader/owner have both been very generous.
    Ho ho ho!

Saturday afternoon is our last winery gig of the year. It's a fun spot that we play half a dozen times a year. Weather is freakishly warm here, bet we'll have a good crowd.
Drummer will have full kit and I am bringing two teles:cool:

My regular Friday bass gig is here again.
I have had 7 days off!
I’m bringing both my basses tonight.
I wonder if the Christmas rush is over, or if it will be packed again tonight.
There is no “stage”, the crowd sort of envelopes us.
    It’s weird when it’s busy.
I have a table to my immediate left, and I sometimes have to play “gatekeeper” with my bass neck.
When I play guitar, it’s a little better.
There’s no one right by me.
Anyways, I’m looking forward to playing tonight!

NYE at a club. The stage is just big enough to get the drum kit onto. No doubt a committee member will be informing us that we can't spill out onto the dance floor. Apparently, a member will be playing Aulde Lang Syne on a trumpet at midnight. That should be a laugh.

That will make 36 gigs for the year, which isn't too bad considering that we've had to replace the bass and drums. Twice! But that's a whole different story.

Another senior living center gig (these gigs are MONEY! 1 hour, early hours, full rate).
I will use my Player Tele for the first time, probably through Champion 50XL.
