My next one is Thursday, tomorrow.
It's my monthly "solo" House Wine gig.
I won't be doing it solo this time, my wonderful singing baby sister will be back.
    Margaret took last month off.
We have a bunch of new tunes to do.
I'll use my James Goodall RCJC guitar, Fishman Loudbox Performer, and perhaps my Boss ME50.
I say perhaps, but I really should "shake up" my guitar sounds a little.
    Anyways, looking forward to it!

Outdoor gig, Tomorrow, Thursday, August 3
Autism Benefit and Summer Fade Away Street Party - Canonsburg, PA (Pittsburgh area)
Haven't decided on a main guitar yet, as the weather looks a little iffy. If rainy I will likely use my beat up Strat style partscaster. If OK, I will likely use my newly acquired 2016 SG, but may switch to my parts Tele for some tunes.
Carvin Belair amp for sure. I usually run straight in with this amp, no pedals except a volume pedal in the effects loop.

Here is a photo from last year - the young lady in front is not part of our band! That is me on the right, with the Strat and Belair behind me.

My usual duo partner is unavailable. Last week he was to, so had a fillin. Wasn't great. The fill in is terrific, but we didn't get time to rehearse. So, hopefully won't get a bad report.

This week he's unavailable but have my other duo partner. She's not keen on these gigs, but they pay. I'll be using my gretsch, its dedicated pedal board and my blues jr.

August 19, Colorado Green Band, benefit for Fort Collins Cat Rescue (and a paid gig at that!) Playing 1-3 PM, location TBD.

As for gear... I'm not sure. I really want to use the Rivera amp more, but my bandmates don't want to help me lift it. I might run the Bandmaster Reverb head into the 1 x 12" with an EVM-12L. I've been playing my MIM Strat a lot lately, as well as the G&L Tribute ASAT Deluxe, but I pulled out the Les Paul for a jam last weekend and it made me remember why I own it. Lots of options and plenty of time to decide.

Next gig is a party for a very dear friend and recent cancer survivor. It'll be a "celebration of life" party, so the vibes will be great. We'll be setup on a covered bridge built over a stream on their farm. I'll be using my 68 Twin head, 2x12 Tough Trucker cab with Weber ceramic Calis, and my "Alligator Homage" Stratocaster. This party should be the highlight of the year.

Looking forward to tonight's gig with our "classic rock" band.

    Tonight's rig:
MIM Cabronita - black solidbody with volume/tone mod
    Vox AC15-HW1

    with these on the pedalboard:
    Polytune Tuner
    MXR/Dunlop MC401 Boost/Line Driver
    Turbo Rat
    Rat
    Empress Tremolo
    Flashback Delay
    Digitech Hardwire RV-7 Reverb

I've used this rig for the past couple of gigs with this band and I've got it dialed in pretty well, now.

Bonus is that our 2nd guitarist will be with us tonight.
He lives out of town, so we do gigs as a 4-piece without him when he's not here. But we've been playing together, on and off, since we were kids and there's a musical connection with us that's a lot of fun.
In the words of Duane Allman, "Hittin' the note."

So, yeah, looking forward to this evening.

The band is a mix of people I have played many gigs with over the last few years...
    Should be fun

Might also take my Colorado flag-caster. Just for grins.

I bet that rig sounds good, Bill.

Be sure to use lots of wacky effects you would never use otherwise. Singers love that -- especially baby sister singers.

My next gig is through my music school - a set of Buddy Holly covers at a local bar. Crowds for these things are fantastic.

Gear: probably my sunburst strat into my tweed champ clone or my Boss Katana. Might make use of a compressor or a delay but probably not. Depending on how it all goes I might end up playing some acoustic too.

Have one Sunday Evening with the Tro the, another next Saturday with same guys but at a different Club.

'87 MIJ Strat, Tele Baritone, some minimal fx in to my '73 Vibrochamp. I take my own Self-Powered Mackie for a Monitor, sing through a stock SM58, the Amp gets an e609 Silver.

I'll be playing at a school festival. My daughter goes to a private kindergarten, and every year the school has a festival.

The kids get to perform, and then the parents. I live in a district popular with entertainers, and a few of parents are musicians. Some are classical musicians, others are in pop or rock bands, so the music is quite good (usually).

My weapon of choice for these events is my D28.

Next gig is tonight. Kinda fun and kinda sad & bittersweet. 3 act lineup, we're closing.

It supposed to be a fun annual commemoration of Woodstock. Uh, yeah.

The second band has just been through two tough losses. Maybe 3 years ago, their frontman/keys/rhythm player died, health problems. Husband of lady bass player. They soldier on, find new rhythm player/singer and at last year's show, they were back, maybe even a little better.

A month ago, their drummer passes away. They will be showing up this year, with bass player's grandson at drums. Playing in grandma's band.

    So, there's that.

We've got a sub for our bass player and a fun set list. My usual rig.

    Ob la di.

Saturday Sept. 2 The Colorado Green Band will be playing the Larimer County Farmers Market in Fort Collins. It's also Tour de Fat. Either we'll have a good crowd, or the cyclists will ignore us.

Gear: G&L Trinbure ASAT Deluxe Carvetop > regular pedalboard > Peavey Backstage Plus amp. Taylor 812 C acoustic into the PA using a Baggs Para-Acoustic preamp/DI.
