Joke used to be "How many gtr players to change light bulb? 11, 1 to change and 10 to say I could do that". Apparently, now, only 1 is needed. Go Matteo!

This dude absolutely kills it. And barely old enough to shave. Very inspiring to an old dinosaur such as myself.

That was a nice clip. Matteo is a extraordinary player and his tone from using fingers is really nice. I wonder if he's using his Helix?

This is a guitar forum and a player of Matteo's level should have dozens of replys by now, but nope.
Matteo needs better exposure, sorry Line6 but you're not getting it done. Cut him loose in New York so he could sit in with all the greats.

He's a great player with training and talent.

I posted a couple of his vids here earlier this year, but didn't get much response.

    I'm a big fan.

Frankly, I've seen so many astonishing players, and even of that age range, that I'm sort of jaded and desensitized.

That isn't to say he's not excellent, he is. I'm just burned out on great guitar players. It has driven me to find less technically accomplished players who are unusual or idiosyncratic. Strangely, not many of that sort seem to exist. We need another Adrian Belew type. Not someone who plays like him, just someone who completely rethinks and reinvents guitar.

You mean, like Paganini? I dunno, I can hear, even at his young age, touch, feel, worldly musicality. Wait till he's 30 and has a few more life experiences. I say just wow. Go Matteo!

Sorry guys, he's way beyond just a shredder.

I guess he'd have more approval here if he was an awesome blooze dood.

I find 95% of “da blooze” just as boring.

What does my playing have to do with it? I can’t think something is boring? Guess I’m not entitled to an opinion.

You are entitled to your opinion.
I still feel you're missing something, but that's just my opinion.

    Kinda over Techno...

I admire his knowledge of scales and dexterity.

Id have to hear more of what he does... but, this stuff (imo) would get old, FAST.

    (i.e., once more with feeling.)

Everyone has their own taste, and that's a good thing. It just doesn't align with what I like. He's obviously a great player though.

I should clarify. I was mostly referring to modern electric blues, ie: Bonnamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepperd and the like.

Two different things, one is the playing part and the other is your personal opinion.

Commenting on the player's skills or not is what the thread is about. It's not personally objective. You said he was a great player, probably from his display of pyrotechnics. A fairly objective pov.

Saying it's not your thing is more of a subjective pov. A personal judgement.

People want the facts of him as a player/musician. Not who they like the most or least.. Two different things.

thanks for posting. He certainly can play and his potential is fantastic. Yeah, he's young and hasn't lived enough for some kinds of musical expression, but that will be available in time.

For my two cents, I really dug what he was doing in @Durtdog 's post #10 more than what he was playing in the OP - the clip in the OP was a little dry for my tastes, but that doesn't take anything away from his skills.

But in response to the OP - yeah, actually it is inspiring! There's always so much to learn!
