Wow, now thats all bidness right there! Whats the speaker/cab/power sim? Very nice! That Constable is a beast too!! What’s your playing situation? How are you monitoring? So nice! All i have are Kingsley Preamps. Im running an amp-less rig. Ive been using them as intended, full preamps, into a power amp (digital: CabM+) and speaker cab emulation/IR (CabM+) direct into PA. I aint missing my amps.
I love these pedals. And I have more coming. (Plexi, JTM and JCM800, Hatchet and Peasant).

And Maiden + Page D-TS combo. I did think about the Juggler, but I decided to separate the two. A Juggler is a Maiden and a Page DS in one box after all. At least with them separate I can switch up pedals and reverse the order.
A Juggler is a Maiden -> Page. As it should be, as thats what a Dumble amp ODS architecture is. Clean channel cascading into the overdrive channel. So in essence, I have the Juggler, but a little bit more flexible, as I can also tweak the EQ of the overdrive channel rather than both sharing EQ. The downside is, my combo is a little bit more expensive.
Ive been using Kingsleys for about 2 years now and have been going back into the waitlist since then.![]()

That’s very encouraging! Yes, very wise choice on your part, later I can see adding some cab/sim to the board for recording, FOH emergencies etc,. Its out of my life long comfort zone step away from the ubiquitous Fender amp. That I will get over eventually. My power amp and speaker sim is the twoNotes CabM+, its a great piece of gear. Has a few power amp options, 6L6, EL84, etc etc. try it. It has decent headroom and you can use your Juggler in full output mode.
I play in church, and we use IEM’s for our monitors. At home, I use my Audio Technica M50 or my IEM to practice and tweak my tones.
I’m not going back to amps. If I want to be physically loud, id buy a Fryette power amp or a used HRD and run through the effects loop.
My end game rig will have at least 3-4 Kingsley preamps in my big board. But with the wait list, it will take me 2 more rounds of orders to complete my rig.
I have no more doubts and i pay top notch prices for top notch gears. If there’s a gear thats actually worth it’s price, these are it.

First discovering the high headroom dynamic thing and how that effects literally EVERYTHING from playing, writing, band arrangement, recording even vocals. It has affected everything in a good way. Second and less important was going to the Wet/D\Wet setup. But, I will never go back! LolI have been forced down this road.
I admire the IEM users and all the advantages but, I’m an old fart. I have to feel the wind at my back (ok, ankles). I totally agree about the Fryette Power Station. What an amazing rig three little 1-12 cabs each loaded with 50 watt tube power amps… the mind reels $$$. Someday
People probably think this all sounds like too much to go through but at end of the day you walk into your church, plug your board in you’re done! Even WDW thing is a board and 3tiny light cabs. I used to slog two BF Supers in flight cases for god sake!!
My conformation email should arrive Monday with a lead time. Very, very stoked!!
I would love to hear some of your recordings! Fire away! Thanks for the link. I am in total rabbitWait times can vary from 4-6 months. So plenty of time to save up some cash. I think Juggler comes in 7months as they’re very busy, but dont worry, you’ll get it.
Like I said, ive been going back in the waitlist for quite some time. I went back last June, so I’m due around Sept-Oct.
I do love an amp and speakers moving air, but nowadays, its just not practical anymore. Im not paid, im not a pro. Id rather have an outstanding direct tone rather than mess with an amp, obsess with how I want to place my mic in our amp room. Which i used to do and I never got my tone right. In the last 20 sum years, my rig right now delivers the best tone ive ever had, going direct and recorded. I would PM you some recordings but not sure if youd like to hear church music. Lol.
Also, my rig works like a traditional amp, as I’m a traditional guy. Lololol
Kingsley preamps -> delay/reverb (wet effects) -> Power Amp (digital) -> speaker cab IR -> PA
I created a faux effects loop as you would do with a “real” amp with an effects loop. Now, I can list all the downsides with this set up, but the main problem is that, as you know, these are proper preamps, the output is insane and can easily clip digital pedals to oblivion. The constable and juggler has 3 output modes, so you can choose which one suits you best, but I use them in full output mode capable of delivering 12-20+ V of signal output. But that gives me a full experience of the preamp, and as long as I’m careful with my volumes, I’m good.
Also, I dont so stereo. Im okay, and I can do it, but the effort is not worth the result I’m gonna get. I’m still getting summed into mono, at the left side of the mix, as where I’m usually am. My reverb and delay might sound good in stereo, however, I’d rather just keep it simple as well. My “deconstructed” amp rig is complicated as is. Lolol
Like I said, i am a fan and i have tons of info to share when you get yours.also, there’s a mega thread in TheGearPage which we all are actively posting. Its 1000 pages though:
The Kingsley Pedal Club
Hup, Here we go :) How about a meeting place for folks into the wonderful Kingsley ODs? C'mon in and give us your story or OD review FTR I have a Minstrel, Page and Jouster and I am awaiting delivery (Dec hopefully) of a Harlot and Jester Edit: Harlot and Jester now in. Serf added. John...www.thegearpage.net
Yeah. I have all of that too. Its amazing what it can do. Magic stuff and unparalleled for workflow. What it absolutely will not do is what is described in that TPS video and throughout this thread. As someone with a laptop and Amplitube Complete, I always have to laugh when someone show a pedal that cost more than my software, laptop, and interface. Especially since the pedal can't do anything I can't do in software, and it can do 10,000 other things.
Part of my problem has to do with the Ethos the other is that I have one (very touchy) preamp on my board an one in my Deluxe. My drives hit the front of the Deluxe dry side like normal stage setup. They also go through my board wet side preamp which is set to the clean channel always. This had me in bandaid mode with various things. Chasing boost, sectioned loops etc, to compensate for my bad signal path choices. I just need the the front my amp in the front of my rig. Period. The Ethos as you know has some of the same functionality as the Juggler V3 such as Mid boost, EQ lift, clean dirty channel etc. To do what I want it to do it needs all this to be remotely switchable. That feature alone makes it possible to use this way. I mean, it looks like a pedal, but it is the front of an amp and is actually much simpler than most amps. Mesa Boogie for example…
The only thing I would put in front of this would be the Fuzz Face, cuz, well, FF... Simon is running a Eunuch fuzz into his in the demo. Later if I want a Constable after the Juggler for a Bassman/JTM45 tones I could add it.
What is your current rig? Are you doing the preamp from the board thing with the Zen?
Very cool. I see what you’re doing. I have other things like this to try out as well. Great add there! I haven’t seen a backline amp since the 90’s. I don’t live in that world anymore. When I did, it was never anything I was used too. Peavey Mace or Classic, LabSeries L5… I wish I had thrown a pre on the board back then to use the way you are. I just didn’t know. To go from my lovely Supers to a Mace was beyond me. I remember even a stock Mace would leave my Supers in the dust volume wise but was endless db levels of brittle, strident shyte that my Supers would have happily turned into music.I did some experimenting with the Umble into a Quilter head's FX return but found the Umble to be too fussy for on-the-fly tweaks, although I still us the FX return for keys and acoustic. The ZD/SD-1 mash-up is on a small board mainly used with backline amps; HRD, Blues Jr, etc. If I carry an amp, it would be my 5E3 Proluxe with a distortion set for low gain and pedals for delay and reverb. I still set up loud, dirty, and bright, using the guitar's knobs to keep it all under control. BTW, I'll sometimes use a Distortion+ in the same manner you'd use the Fuzz Face. Works great!
I've owned a couple of Kingsleys in the past, and they were expensive then... no way I'd pay that much for them now, NO dirt box is worth that kind of money, if you need a $700 dirt box, you probably need to be putting that money towards a new amp instead. And I know I'll get people disagreeing with me- that's fine- I've been down all the roads before, playing 35 years... tried everything... IMO an Uber-expensive OD or "tone manipulator" of some kind means you got the wrong amp.
That being said, the Kingsley stuff is the best, the best TUBE drives on the market.

I would love to hear some of your recordings! Fire away! Thanks for the link. I am in total rabbithole mode and it really helps! I hope you’re able to get back on the list and get those preamps
Ouch! 7 months!! oh well, still can’t wait to hear it. Thanks!! BTW that blue strat is beautiful!!
Oh my goodness dude!! The videos you sent are very impressive! Great, well rehearsed worship band dialed in to perfect live mix. Your direct sounds are not just “believable” digital facsimile, they are exceptional! They don’t just sound like an amp, they are stunningly rich and smooth! The effects levels have obviously been concurred as the delays and verbs are pristine and ethereal. You’re a top notch player, like, really good, and that is certainly helping the sound! An ampless rig is not just a dream anymore folks, I just saw it perfected. Very encouraging! I wish I was’nt so stubbornly attached to having my speaker cabs fanning my anklesI’m already in. I got in last June. So my name would come up on Sept-Nov. i always make sure I got everything i want in that order because of the wait and I save on combined shipping. Lol. So if you have other pedals you like, make sure you ask for it as well before your time has come.
I’ll Pm you a few links with different preamps in recording.
