I voted nay, because your 'customer' isn't thrilled by that idea and his voice should count the most. You are trying to make him happy in the first place, as a builder :)

I'm a yes on the rhinestones, just not on the sunflower--I like that as it is. On the pickguard might look cool.

I’m both the “builder” and the “customer” in that sense. Lol. I really do like it after seeing it taped on.

They are adhesive rhinestones I bought at 'Dollarama'. There was an ugly scratch on the upper horn that bothered me for the longest time and so I decided to take action. The big rhinestones stay on pretty good but the small ones I have to be careful when strumming.

mhmm. Yea these are small. On the head stock. So shouldn’t be a issue. I’ll just have to pick some glue up, as they aren’t adhesive backed

Practice on scrap. Redo the whole flower on a scrap piece of similar wood (maybe several pieces). Then you can try the stones and other materials and see how they compare.

I think that works. If you (and the missus) are happy with the look then I say go for it.

Abalam is an inlay product that looks like abalone but is laminated in such a way that it's easier to work with (less breakage?) And it may be available from StewMac or LuthierSupply.
I'm not sure how thick the strips are.
Just an idea, as I understand the purpose of the tribute.
    Peace - Deeve

I'm totally into it. That looks way better than I imagined it would. Break out the glue!

that’s kinda how I feel! Like I said. Spend more time to get a more even spacing. Lol. But especially how the gold outline of the sticker reflects light too.

I believe it was actually you who first recommended testing it with a low adhesive. If it was, thank you haha. Two sided tape was perfect. Allowed me to see the whole picture. And even hold it up and turn it in and out of light to see how it acted.
