Gotta say it but I read the Bourne novels when they were first written and Mat Damon was peeing his pants. He is simply too young for that role of Jason Bourne. Daniel Craig would've been a better Bourne than a Bond. ( Tongue twister at the end);)

In the TV series Bewitched, I think Dick Sargent could have easily replaced Dick York as Darrin Stephens?

Ok, I’m glad to hear somebody else say this.
He was annoyingly whiny in A New Hope IV and Empire Strikes Back V, and unbelievable as a “cool Jedi” in episode VI.

I looked more like him when the films came out (blond kid), but I always wanted to be Han Solo...he fit my personality more.

Steve McQueen was cooler and grittier, and Paul Newman was smoother and funnier, but I’ve often thought they could replace one another fairly handily in most (but not all) of their roles.

Brad Pitt and Danny DeVito are fairly interchangeable.

I heard that Deniro wanted the Tom Hanks role in Big. At first I thought, no way, now it seems plausible. But then we have only seen one version of these movies so it is hard to imagine them being any other way.

I really like Damon as Bourne, but I've never read the books. I never would have figured I'd like him in a role like that, but I think he did a good job.

Love Craig as Bond, but I think he could have done Bourne well also!

Every time I see the title of this thread, I think “I’m a dude...playing a dude...disguised as another dude...”

My uncle was a semi-famous actor who had been nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting. Sometime after that, he was looking at casting calls in Variety, and someone was looking for a "Leonard Frey type".
Not having a gig at the time, he called for an audition.
Sorry, they said, we want a Leonard Frey TYPE, not the actual Leonard Frey.

Crispin Glover would have been a fine Forrest Gump. Throw in Richard Kind as Lieutenant Dan while we’re at it.

I'm going to have to disagree with the Travolta/Pitt thing. No way Jose. He's a bit overrated, in my opinion. He was great in Moneyball though.

He was utterly believable as a Russian in Hunt For Red October. Not.

Surely you mean Tom Cruise and Danny DeVito?
