Anyone could have replaced Kevin Costner in any of his movies.

Okay, sorry, I could not resist. I'll let myself out. Carry on.

    Yea.

Duval as Gus and Tommy Lee as Woodrow could NOT have been played by others! Others tried and failed.

Larry McMurtry wanted to cast John Wayne as Woodrow Call and James Stewart as Augustus “Gus” McCrae. NO WAY! Jimmy Stewart cheating at cards for "a poke"!

I can imagine Susan Sarandon in Castaway. Or on any beach.

You just made me laugh out loud. I’ll bet you’re in favor of a Constitutional amendment banning the Designated Hitter, too.

Pulp Fiction: can’t see Pitt but can see Nicholas Cage.
Castaway: Matt Damon, possibly due to his work in The Martian.
    Forrest Gump: Steve Martin

I see Jason Bateman as the new Tom Hanks or Jimmy Stewart. In other words, he’s the new “everyman.” He’s not the heroic Jon Snow, witty Vince Vaughan, or can-do Tom Cruise. Instead, he’s just a decent kid who’s trying to make it through the day and preserve his moral code.

Wait, his Robin Hood was sheer genius. That was uncalled for. Sorry, the Laphroaig has me a bit snarky.

I've always thought that Alistair MacLean's first book 'HMS Ulysses', based on his personal experiences of the Arctic convoys to Murmansk, would make a great movie, with or without Mr. Crowe.

If you haven't read it, I recommend it.

Same with Dennis Quaid, those two are pretty much interchangeable in my book.

The designated hitter rule ended baseball.

Okay, Costner might look good in tights, but that is where the line is drawn.

Agreed. Too bad they only know how to play themselves. An oxymoron.

I sincerely wish Tom Hanks would have played the lead character in American Treasure over Nicolas Cage. Its a cool enough treasure story, that completely unwatchable considering what an awful actor Cage is.

If they go with this short season they are planning on putting the designated hitter in the National League. Once it gets there it will stay. No, I am opposed.

Yeah, Kevin Costner could’ve been Gordon Cooper too. I see it.

Everything changes. I guess if Al Kaline could be DH, it must be OK on some level. Although it’s not the game I grew up with nothing is the way I grew up with.
