Uh, can you help me out here, with a link at least?
Large Speaker cabs simply don't fly with the Womern's I go with. No!
No Womern wants a man with a Big Bottom.
Annnnnnnnd another thing.
Cars are getting smaller.
Girlfriends are Buying those Smaller Cars.
Think about it!
Do you ever feel like you have no idea what everyone is talking about?
Not until now. What is everyone talking about?
I don’t know about you, but I’m talking about the same thing they are.
Dang it. I can't find this ad either.
If it is not allowed here please delete.
I like the guitar. The underwear looks uncomfortable.
Im all for equal rights etc. and improving attitudes towards woman (and men for that matter)
But this white washing of history (advertising etc.) drives me crazy. The ad was deemed acceptable at the time, if not a bit tongue in cheek.
I get that the times are a changing but why delete or try and remove what is effectively a history lesson? (not aimed specifically at the OP...)
I still think it is a bit funny, brave of them to take such a risk but no one was harmed specifically with the ad, no names were mentioned
Like that TV show set in the 50's...the ad agency. It was great to see the old attitudes and how things have changed....pretending it didn't happen removes the lesson learned. IMO.
The same with famous racing cars/bikes. As a vehement anti smoker (my whole life, not born again) I am grateful that sponsorship of racing cars (and other forms of sport) is now off limits to cigarette branding but leave the cars that had it alone. It IS history. Removing the branding and just leaving the stripes, changing a letter in the name....just silly.
They were stunning in their Rothmans, Marlboro etc. liveries.
Anyway, rant over
Tired of not "getting it"?
Remember that ad? Can't remember what they were even selling...
They are selling guitars that cause underwear to drop. If you have ever been laid you would understand........
That ad makes people uncomfortable?
That’s nothing, and everyone over a certain age here knows it.
Women are used to sell everything, look at any advertising ever.
And that ad was aimed at 15 yr old boys.
If it was today, and aimed at a guy my age,
Probably there would be a girl or 2 in a swimsuit or something and a stupid looking expensive car.
I find it juvenile, but I refuse to feign or actually feel any kind of disgust over an ad like that.
If I saw it, Id flip past anyway.
I grew up in a world full of dumb stuff like that.
And 15 yr old boys have access to much filthier things nowadays, those were perhaps the good old days.
I think the second a woman find out you're a hardcore Donny Osmond fan... The panties just fly off whether you're a guitarist or not.
What does embracing the Christian fairy tale have to do with this thread?
The idea of any kind of marketing is to find the stupid in people and exploit it. How can you be shocked by something that was BS the moment it was written?
Was this ad targeting bass players?
I think most bass players wear similar style panties, so probably yeah.
That's very tame to the guitar magazines I remember from the 80's.
Just stopped by for another look.
I do like the f holes.
