Ok, am I the only one running a comp after drives&preamp?

    The downside of comp after dirt is that it can amplify any extra noise coming from your dirt pedals. Don't know if you have this problem but it can happen.

    Yes it did. In fact, that was one of the reasons I had to sort my boards power supply situation. Between the digitals and the dirty power, turning on the comp was very noticeable. My board is really quiet now thankfully. I ended up using the GigRig stuff.
    It’s probably a noisier position than running it pre-drives.

    I tried it that way, but like it better with a TS feeding a compressor.

    I run my Cali76 post drives on my board. I use it for clean tones and occasionally for light compression on top of light to medium gain. It’s buffered bypass and I find some drives sound better when they don’t see a buffered signal. I don’t have a switching system in place yet - looking at Gigrig quartermaster down the line.

    Well, a drive will also amplify the noise of the compressor...

    at the end of the day the noise situation will depend on your settings.
