Old guitar day! Well, okay, new to me but my first "vintage" guitar. I was pretty nervous about getting this, but took the plunge. 1967 Martin 00-18, strictly player grade. Replaced bridge, nut and frets. This may be the loudest acoustic guitar I've ever played in 45 years of noodling. Weird how thin the tuner knobs are, too. So far so good!

Many times "player grade" vintage guitars just sound better. Maybe necessary maintenance/repair lowers the value, but it keeps the guitar going.

    Nice score.

Yeah, exactly. I really wasn't looking for a closet queen, I wanted something I could dig into without worrying about breaking a unicorn horn. Thanks!

I'm convinced it makes a big difference. I was jamming this morning with a friend who plays a J-45 and he couldn't believe how loud this thing is. It's not overly bright, it's just LOUD. Very balanced, at least for the size of the body.

That can be pricey. But for that guitar, likely worth it :)

I'm having a custom mahogany OM built (lifetime dream guitar) now.

I prefer a dovetail neck joint, but this one will be bolted on to accommodate the eventually necessary neck reset. I doubt I'll be alive to see it---

    SWEET! Can I play it?

My J45 is a cannon. It's clearly been loved in the 65 years it's been on the planet. It writes songs by itself.

I'm not sure it really does. At least, I would never consider a competent neck reset to be a minus.

Very cool! Do share with us when it arrives. Is it all mahogany? I love the even tone of all-mahogany bodies.

I love 0018's...they have a wonderful dry tone, unmistakably Martin! Here's my 0018 from 1931....it's a fabulous tone machine....
