I have a JTM 45 chassis drilled for octal power tubes, but a PT sized for a champ. What octal tube options are out there for a Bassman/JTM 45 micro build? Would a 6sl7 sound good in the power section?

A 6sn7 would be a good candidate. They are similar to 12au7, similar application and specs and were used as power tubes in a lot of small audio amps in their day.

I bought 6G6-G tube pair for low power push pull but have not used them yet. 6G6 is pentode and has about 2,5W plate dissipation and I have seen been used driving reverb transformer on guitar amps.
