Yup, new washing machine day! By far the most efficient electric washing machine made in the world and perhaps the most expensive too:oops:, but we already ran a load using our Ford alternator powered micro hydro plant with amp time to spare.:) IMG_4473.JPG IMG_4479.JPG

Stupid me. I saw WMD and immediately thought weapon of mass destruction. How the he!! is he gonna get that thing home? What's he gonna use it for? Declare war on British Columbia?

Now don't get me wrong. A washing machine can be a WMD in the wrong hands. I've been married 44 years, doing laundry for 43 of them. In my first year of marriage I found that my wife could destroy anything in an apartment complex washing machine and turn it to kindling in the dryer.

Just googled that. It's pretty neat how it functions..I imagine it will take some getting used to.

Haaa, yeah, I was hoping that would be the reaction. Actually, 20 years ago, my end of our prenuptial was to get one of these washing machines to replace my beloved stainless steel hand controlled unit with a manual wringer.

Actually, it surprisingly operates exactly like any other washing machine except for the second lid under the top lid. Very quiet and we tested it on my work clothes with only the recommended 1 oz of liquid soap and not only cleaned them, but wrung out better than any washing machine either of us have ever used. I know, odd to be fascinated by a washing machine.

The electric washing machine is one of the great emancipatory tools of the 20th century. I'm not a big fan of tumble dryers, though....

Haaa, we hang our clothes out to dry on a line as well. Okay, but I've got to ask, either those clothes are drying in some sort of high/low pressure/pre tornado wind sheer phenomena up there in Scotland, or a new drying technique, or my best guess ... experimenting with a new bagpipe design?;)

It’s nice to have stuff that works.
Much of my stuff does, work, that is.
    Congratulations!

Of course. This is what I have been using for 22 years, but from building the cabin and house, my shoulders are wearing out.

Nothing better than hanging out your washing, on a windy day. In this case, a warm Spring Southerly...… (We don't get many of those around here).
As you know, there is a technique to getting your laundry to....billow. ;) I have been working on my skills for nearly 60 years- right from when I used to hand my Mother the pegs.

Ahhh, it just goes to show that it is hard to beat years of experience. The art of billowing still eludes me.
