Picked this up Friday from a dealer. I woke up at 5 AM, drove a couple hours to his studio to make the quick exchange. I traded some of my gear, including my 1935 Gibson L-50 and an amp, and drove back home with the L7 just in time to work that whole day. I was exhausted, but it was very much worth it.

The McCarty is a repro with a Lollar pickup in it and it sounds fantastic. I have mainly been enjoying it unplugged though. Theres just something about that old wood sound from a Gibson archtop. I will try to post a video this week

There is something special about a vintage Gibson like that. Am I to assume it's a single coil pickup?

Yes, it’s basically a P90 but the pickup is physically much thinner so it kind of has its own sound when combined with the fully acoustic guitar

Love the combined pickup/pickguard/knobs. The height of class.

HNVGD! Looks like the twin (sans the pickup) of my 1948 L7C. Whats the year of yours?
