Awesome find! HNAD!

I’d break my dry spell if I found a Greta at a good price. I have bid on a couple on Reverb, with no success.

I have an Excelsior and Vaporizer…so mo’is better.

I had to have a greta when I saw it new 10 years back - my daughter’s name. I love it. It’s great as a little practice amp. It’s great as an overdrive into a bigger amp. And it’s great to hook your phone into and listen to swing, rock and roll, early country, western swing, rockabilly, early jazz etc.

In all a great amp.

When this year started, I was only planning to finish assembling a partscaster that I’ve been collecting the parts for the last five years or so…

And then I promptly bought two guitars and an amp.

My name’s Fiesta Red, and I’m a GAS-aholic.

Before this year started, I had plenty of guitars and amps and pedals and mics…shoot, I had enough stuff five years ago!

I need help.

Ok, I’m over the confessional part…

I picked up a Fender Pawn Shop Greta…It’s cute, but it sounds great, too!

I like the Pawn Shop amps I’ve played through—enough that I bought an Excelsior Pro a year or two ago.

This is totally different, and gets that great, gritty and rough sound these are known for.

So, now I have yet another amp I don’t need or deserve, but I’m happy.

Good luck, I hope you find a cure.

Does anyone have a good pdf copy an official schematic for this amp?

Several of the schematics I found online are something a dude drew up himself.

Yeah, I'm on git #3 for the year. Been working since high school, still working at 67...
May not "need" another, but I feel I deserve it. Supporting the industry. Rock on!

Hi Fiesta, maybe this thread may help:

The Vaporizer is larger than I thought it would , it's a 2x10" , but you could almost fit 2x12".
This thing needs an attenuator ( or adding a master volume ) : it's loud, too much for home use, but not enough to play with drums and bass ( 12watts ): not much clean headroom .
Stock speakers and reverb tank deserve an upgrade .
The tolex looks much better in real life than in pictures , but it dents if you just look at it wrong .
Yeah - I have always wanted a vaporizor but have stayed away for these reasons...

Cool! I seriously wanted a Greta when Fender released them, but I never did get one. I do have an Excelsior, however, and that is a cool amp, too. Enjoy that little thing!

The Excelsior and Greta are the two I like best. Still looking for an Excelsior. One showed up locally for a good price, but we were in the middle of an expensive home remodeling job, so I didn’t jump on it.

I’ll keep looking though.

Question about the Greta, that you all MIGHT know...

I just picked one of these up, a bit worse for wear, but I am a sucker for small amps.

Looking at the owner's manual, it doesn't address using the Line Out without using the internal speaker or external Speaker.
Looking at the schematic, the Line out Jack doesn't disconnect the Internal speaker like the the External Speaker jack does.

If running the line out, I wouldn't want the internal amp speaker going, because the Output transformer needs to see a load on a tube amp to keep from letting the "magic Smoke" out.

I am thinking of cooking up a 1/4" jack with a 8 ohm load resister on it to plug into the External speaker jack to use it silent, and into an IR box, or drive a different amp.

Thoughts?

Yeah them Greta's are the shizzle 😍. I got one and it's way cool. Thinking about replacing the chicken-head 🐔 knobs though. The one's that came with it are a little tacky IMO. But maybe that's the look they were going for, kitschy. However it might devalue the amp if it's not original 🤔.
