Well, actually, it was yesterday, but yesterday also happened to be my anniversary, our 47th, so I wasn't on TDPRI as much as usual.

And no, I did not get a new television set. In RV camping parlance, "TV" is the abbreviation for "Tow Vehicle."

Last June, my wife and I bought an RV trailer. We've done a fair amount of traveling since then, mostly in Texas, but we've also traveled through and camped out in our RV camper in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee and Arkansas. Here is the camping rig we've been using up to now: our SUV, a GMC Envoy as a tow vehicle + R-pod 195 camper.

The GMC was a 2006 that we bought in 2012. For 7+ years I used it to transport my gear to gigs. As I said, we only started doing the RV camping thing since last summer. The tow capacity of that SUV was sufficient for the purpose, but with just a few hundred pounds to spare. When we bought the trailer, we said we'd hold off on a the purchase of a new tow vehicle.

Well, this year it needed some work, particularly on the AC, and we didn't want to invest that much in getting it repaired. So we decided this was the time to get a new to us tow vehicle. We've been researching vehicles for about a month, and the deal fell into place. I think dealers are pretty eager to sell right now.

Our new "TV" is a 2018 Ram 1500, still under factory warranty with just a little more than 19k miles on it, and has a 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, so now we're not even going to know the trailer's there when we're towing. And it was ready for us to pick up yesterday, so it made for a nice anniversary outing.

Oh, and in the pic below, that's me with our dog Bella. And that is the shirt I wore yesterday on our anniversary/trip to pick up our pickup. You can probably make out the big print message, "I LOVE MY WIFE." But if you read the fine print/in between the lines, it says...

I LOVE
it when
MY WIFE
lets me play guitar.

Congrats !

my sister needs a new beagle btw so if you know anyone (and they ship...)

Bella is the best! She's a 3-1/2 years old Bocker Speagle. (Her daddy was a Beagle, her mama a Cocker Spaniel.)

And we recently got a pic of Bella's grandmother from the lady that breeds them...

At the same time we got the pic of Bella's grandma, we got a pic of some pups from a litter after Bella...

Oh, and Mike, I don't know the status of the latest litter of pups. My wife is Facebook friends with the lady that breeds them, and has her contact info on her iPhone. (My wife has everything on her iPhone!) The lady lives in the Rio Grande Valley, so I'm assuming that could be a deal breaker in procuring one of these particular pups for your sister. But I'll get the info if you want me to.

Congrats on the TV. Suddenly all dogs are Bella. My daughter and her partner have a dog named Bella. You have a dog named Bella. And this morning I met a dog on the street (that I mistook for a neighbor's dog so then did some minor conversating with the owner) and her name was Bella too. It's a great name for a dog - it's sure a popular one....

If I had known 3+ years ago how popular a name it would be for a canine, I might have gone with something else. And as it is, the name was a mistake on my part, albeit a happy one, as my wife says it suits our little Bocker Speagle. I've told the story once before, but...

We picked up our 6-week old puppy in the RGV November 18, 2016. Coming home, I was driving, my wife was bonding with her new baby.

We were talking about names. My favorite cartoon strip of all time is Peanuts, and so the first thing that came to mind was Snoopy, but that didn't seem right for a female name.

Then I remembered that in the course of the Peanuts comic strip, Schulz introduced characters from Snoopy's family, including a sister. I misremembered the name of that sister of Snoopy as Bella. And since bella means "beautiful" in Italian, my wife liked the name. When I got home and looked it up, that's when I found my mistake. Snoopy's sister was Belle, not Bella. But of course after my wife settled on the name Bella, that was it.
