New Strap Day, New Saddles Day!

I got a new strap for my Strat. I removed the old Dunlop locking buttons, put the standard buttons back on, and put on my new black nylon strap with a red Fender logo on it - just like I have on my Tele. No biggie.

Last week, I ordered a set of fat saddles from @Kmaxbrady via his Reverb site Bensonite Products. The arrived yesterday. The house was empty this afternoon, so I decided to install them. New saddles!

I measured the string height and distance to the back of the bridge for reference and to "rough in" the setup. From there, I did a quick test and set up intonation. I left on the old strings I had - I want to fine tune the setup before I put on new strings.

I really like the look and the feel of these saddles. Intonation is better, if not right on, and new my strings feel, maybe, slinkier? The guitar seems to feel and play better now.

I got the polished brass - they are hard to get good pictures of because of the shine.

Here are the new and old saddles:

Here are just the new saddles:

    I'm pretty excited.

Ahh, the Fat Saddles. Bling! Thanks for the report!

Ditto on dropping the strap locks.

This pic really shows the difference - I shot this as I was changing them:

Yep, I couldn't get on with strap locks, either. How do you feel about Grolsch? :)

I bought some of the Fender branded rubber strap lock washers. Although, I am low on beer, soooooo....

Cool move on the saddles. I would go with strap locks just not the Dunlops.

I went to my local wine/beer making shop and bought mine there. Can't lose, and they work better than anything!
