There was a thread several weeks ago when someone posited that the B-52s were the best American band. While several of us responded in disagreement, and "best" can never truly be objectively determined, there was a notable omission.

I offer, for your consideration, one tremendous band, from the US of A - NRBQ

    The latest incarnation -

    The classic lineup -

Too many possible choices. It would be easier to make a list of bands that are the best. NRBQ certainly should be on the "best" list.
Others on the best list Muddy Water's band with Jimmy Rogers and Otis Span and The Band.

I love the Q. We saw them a lot in the '80s, when I lived in Western Mass.

Saw them a couple times back in the day, with Ferguson and Gadler, my favorite version of the band.

I saw them twice within 48 hours last summer (2019). Two long sets each show and only 1 song overlapped. Today’s lineup is incredible, and Scott Ligon, their current guitar player, is fantastic. Their 2000’s output rivals “the good old days.” HIGHLY recommended, if and when they get back on the road.

I had an eventful day last year trying to figure out how to count out the verses in Me and The Boys.
Innocently sat down to learn it one day and said, "Whaaaaaaaattt?"
Eventually I think I unlocked it. But that was a head-scratcher.

Used to see them a lot in the 80s. Truly one of the greatest bar bands - EVER. I've never seen musicians of such high caliber having so much fun on stage. I saw them again a couple of years ago and was very disappointed. Based on some comments above, perhaps I caught them on an off night.
