NPD: The Black Rat!

    This might be the best $10 I've ever spent.

    Found it on Craigslist. The seller was at the appointed place at the appointed time. It took less than 20 minutes of my life to drive there, complete the deal and drive home. I didn't even try to haggle with him, so I guess I didn't conduct the perfect transaction. I never learned the seller's name, so when we met I just addressed him as the Black Rat (it's true).

    I had never played with a Rat type distortion before. I love it. It has a nice, throaty character to it. Almost haunting mids. The mojo per dollar ratio is exceedingly high. It makes me want to play slide style guitar, but just with my fingers.

    Year of the rat! Not long ago I got a clone of a clone mini rat and it's great. I especially like how the cow company ripped off the rat at half price and these guys ripped off THEM for half the price. Rat karma.

    Cool, hope it sounds like a Rat, but if your happy... we are happy!
    Rat distortion is the only distortion (I've tried) that works really well overall, and works magic in a band mix. And yes, there is something in the mids, something beautifull underneath all that dirt, fur and ugly stuff :D

    Its a great distortion but make sure you try it as a low gain drive to, many overlook that. Just a hair or dirt, works great, rivals all the boutique overdrive stuff.
